Real ones know Queens don’t play about food.
Pulled up to Shun Wang in Elmhurst and went full savage mode on some real Cantonese classics. No fancy vibes, just serious flavor.
Roast Pig over rice? Crispy, juicy, zero mercy.
Roasted duck over white rice? Illegal levels of good.
Pork wonton noodle soup? Broth so rich it pays rent.
This is traditional Cantonese done the right way — friendly staff, big portions, no nonsense.
If you’re in Queens and not eating here, that’s on you.
Dine in or take out… just don’t miss it.

A good classic cantonese place. BBQ meats and cantonese breakfast was delicious. The flavors were so authentic and made me feel like I was back in Hong Kong. No frills, you may need to share your table. There’s also limited seating so you may need to wait for a table. Service is as expected – helpful but not necessarily friendly. We’ll definitely come back!

I’ve been coming here since I was a kid and I absolutely love it! Their roast pork noodle soup is my absolute favorite food. The pork has a sweet crust and a flavorful inside I love. The noodles are cooked perfectly and the soup is always super flavorful. It’s so cheap as well and the staff is all so nice!

My mom and I have been to this place years ago and that the food there was wonderful. Both of us ordered roast pork, congee and roast duck. The food was wonderful, and the service was wonderful. The atmosphere was that there were many people there eating, talking, ordering the food and others.

3 stars is fair, 3.9 is over rated. Whenever you see a restaurant got so many 1 star ratings, that means they don’t care. They mainly need local customers more than any tourist. The quality of food and service you would receive may vary, all depends on your luck and their mood.

Service: I’ve never seen a restaurant with such terrible service. I told the staff at the counter that I wanted to place an order, but after several minutes, no one even looked at me, as if I didn’t exist. It wasn’t until I shouted that the rude woman inside finally looked at me. After a while, she accused me of not ordering, as if my previous attempt to order had never happened. They treat customers as if they are enemies.
Food: This restaurant serves the worst rice noodle rolls I’ve ever had. The rice noodle skin is very thick, lacking the delicate and smooth texture it should have. The soy sauce that is supposed to accompany the rice rolls should be sweet, but theirs is purely salty with not a hint of sweetness. I can’t imagine how they managed to make such a basic mistake. I’m quite certain their rice rolls are factory-made frozen products, and they just heat them up in a microwave.

Amazing soy chicken and old-school Cantonese eats by a chef who knows what they’re doing. The chicken uses the unique breed specially for Chinese poached chicken: tender, silky, mild, and a perfect balanced skin to fat to meat ratio. Surprised to find such attention detail and execution in a ramshackle hole in the wall.
Order from the breakfast menu for expert Cantonese dishes at a great price. Highly recommend the roast dishes, congee, and rice rolls.
