Shuggie’s is a climate-positive restaurant celebrating whole harvest cooking, low on the food chain proteins, and small farm biodiversity. We’re a nightly dinner party redefining what environmentalism can look and taste like with our maximalist, vibrant interiors and upcycled, pop-Americana menu. Since opening in 2022, Shuggie’s has been named one of America’s Best New Restaurants by Esquire, Bon Appétit, and New York Times, and was selected for the James Beard Foundation’s WEL Fellowship. We are most proud, however, of the 93,000lbs of food we have rescued from our local food shed to support our local farmers. We look forward to feeding you!

Pretty good food but they dropped pizza from the menu except on Sundays. The place is really cool decor and the staff friendly, but they did make a mistake on the order and forgot the notes about the birthday, so a bit of a bummer.
** They also changed $12 per lemon waters for my kiddo each which was expensive for 3 ($36 on water with a squirt of lemon juice in it).
Our waitress seemed very nervous/stand offish almost, couldn’t really explain what the food was. We tried essentially every menu item, some were 10/10, some were 2-3/10 and all quite pricey. The salmon collar had maybe 1/3 cup of salmon on it, same with the tuna crudo (which you have to scrape off the carcass yourself) and had more peppercorns than fish. The pillow, fish sticks, and wild boar chop were spectacular. Everything else was meh. What really put us off was the absolutely nuts presentation of some of the dishes. Salad on a skewer? Chocolate mousse that they SQUIRT ON YOUR HAND and you have to lick off (side note, we had a large party and by the time she got around to the second part of the dessert, a lil peanut butter ball, the mousse was melting off of everyone’s hand and creating a huge mess, so probably need to revamp the process there), and an entire salmon head on a plate that some diners might find off putting if not expecting it.
We loved Shuggie’s before the rebrand and still love the concept and sustainability! But feels like they’re missing the mark on flavor and substance over wacky presentations nowadays. I miss the pizza but maybe we’ll come back on a Sunday for a try.
We ordered a bunch of appetizers and the food service was very speedy, and the waiter kindly gave us their recommendation on which was their favorite without being overbearing. I would highly recommend getting the Caccio e Pepe pillow and the asparagus appetizers. The pizza was more than amazing. We ordered 3/4 pizzas on the menu to try and might I say – what a unique experience of flavors it was.
I would HIGHLY recommend this place, and I would recommend to go out of your way for it too! It’s great food at a reasonable price. Would just say to make a reservation especially if you’re planning to go on a Tuesday or Sunday, because that’s when live music is played in their restaurant. Thank you to all of the amazing staff there!
The atmosphere itself is charming, but with the eclectic vibe they’ve got going, I couldn’t help but picture some funky murals splashed across the walls.
All in all, I highly recommend checking this place out – you won’t regret it!
