Went for a visit because I needed my fix of oysters and the group raved about this place having fresh seafood. What I didn’t not expect was the bar scene which was fine very clean and well stocked. I got the Caesar salad with the fried fish, it really wasn’t anything to write home about dressing was alright but I did notice brown bits in the salad ( I’m not too phased by it but just a heads up for anyone else). The fish was soo good crispy and flaky just how I like it, felt like it could use more dressing. My friend got the lobster roll which absolutely hit perfectly mixed with the soft bun. We got 2 rounds of oysters my favorite were the ones from Delaware they were plum and so flavorful not so much the prince edward ones. My favorite part of the whole meal was the clam strips the taste on those bad boys had me finishing everything on the plate highly recommend. Service was great we were continually checked on to make sure drinks were full and all our needs were met.
Bathroom rating: 5/5

This Shucks Fish House & Oyster Bar is located in West Omaha about a block South of 119th and Pacific. Great casual dining nice selection of menu items , including fish and standard American food. Very helpful and courteous staff I tried the Shrimp PoBoy with fries and clam chowder soup . Full bar and you can also purchase fresh fish . I highly recommend them so give them a try

I finally have an opportunity to come back to this restaurant after 10 plus years. We went during happy hours. My kids fav is the calamari, that was the first thing that they ordered. The swordfish is good, not tough. I wish the server would introduce the 5 different kind of the oyster for the roundabout. The service was great. I liked the texture of the noodles from the alfredo. We will be back.

amazing place, went here for my anniversary (and many times before) and it was great as always. lobster is always cooked well, never rubbery, the service is always perfect, and the atmosphere is nice and warm. every server weve had has been amazing and clearly experienced. the oysters are delicious and fairly priced, just everything is great

One of my favorite places to pop in. Usually we order the same old same old, but the bartender, because we love sitting at the bar here, recommended their special. I had never even heard of the kind of fish it was. But I’m all over trying new things if someone says it’s good. I took a pic because it was that good. He said it was some kind of amazing catfish? I would love to see this on the menu permanently. It was for lunch…. And I ate it ALL which is not my thing, but it was that good.

A rare 5 star because good, fresh seafood in Nebraska deserves it!
We had the Schuck’s Puppies and a Maryland Crab Cake for starters.
The crab cake was tasty but I could live on those Shucks puppies. I almost ordered another round to go and I’m honestly disappointed that I didn’t.

Both of our entrees were off the specials menu note that I underlined and highlighted the specialty date so don’t expect those items to be available all the time. I think they have a website where you can call to check.
My wife had the soft shell crab po’ boy and I had the lobster stuffed salmon. We both really enjoyed our meals and of course shared bites of both. Even their chips were really quite tasty. My wife enjoyed the coleslaw, not my thing but I’ll take her word for it.

As an out-of-towner Shucks was recommended to me by some locals for great seafood, and they were totally correct! This place is awesome! They live, sleep, eat, qnd breathe sea food here. The atmosphere is very unique as I’ve never seen a fish market and bar in a restaurant before. Loved the vibes, they’ve got cool decor and an interesting layout to say the least. I took my food to-go so I didn’t really receive much service but they were super nice at the front door as well as the counter for to-go orders.
Food was amazing, I’ve never had grilled oysters, always just shot them raw but I may be a changed man! They were freaking amazing and I loved them maybe entirely way too much. I want more of them. Got 5 oysters and 2 pieces of grilled bread for 13 dollars and I feel that it was a fair price.
I also ordered the fish and chips, not sure what kind of fish they used but it was amazing. Lightly battered and well seasoned. Good light crust that tastes great with a fair amount of crunch, I was not disappointed in the remoulade either. The chips were a little strange to me as I was expecting something akin to French fries but received something closer to hash browns instead. They didn’t have much seasoning but they did also have a great crunch!
Overall I wish I had known about Shucks sooner because they are amazing. If I make a return trip to Omaha, Shucks will be on my list to be revisited for sure.

First time at Shucks Fish House and Oyster Bar. The wait time was insane. I waited for nearly an hour. I ordered the Grilled Salmon with house rice and veggies, and the Shrimp Cocktail as an appetizer. The shrimp cocktail was good, but the entree was disappointing. The rice tasted old and cold. Would I come back here again? Chances are very low.

Always the first place I go when I come back to Omaha. Was so excited they had PEI Oysters and a great beer selection. The gentlemen behind the bar shucking and serving were attentive and funny & genuinely looked like they were having a great time working there.

We have eaten here many times over the last 6-7 years. I usually get a different dish each time, however my wife gets the same (angry crab pasta).

Over the last 3-4 years the overall quality has gone down hill. This includes food, service and atmosphere.

Tonight (late December 2025) I ordered the angry crab as did my wife, along with the peel and eat shrimp for appetizer. She ordered a margarita and I ordered a standard mule.

My mule was very watered down and my wife’s margarita was (her words) “meh”.

The peel and eat, usually a great talking point for our visit, had what seemed to be random and rushed seasoning. A couple of the shrimp wasn’t even de-veined, much less even cut opened.

The main course (both of us had the angry crab) was very watery, and had barely any of the spicy-ness it used to. The crab meat also seemed a lot less over the years. We had to order a side of bread to help soak up the soup.

We finished our dinner off with a ice cream/brownie plate, which was pretty good, brownie was decadent.

The atmosphere, well this hasn’t really changed over the years, it’s loud depending on the time of day, but that’s pretty normal. If you want to quiet, then ask to be put over by the bathrooms or out in the market side. Anytime you’re around the bar it might just be startling when someone gets excited. But that’s typical when eating around a bar.

All in all, I’m not to concerned, we’ll still go back, I’m betting it’s a management or cook situation. But I’ll only be a few more times of this before never going back. We drive 1hr to get to Omaha, and if we want to eat there’s 100s of places where I can spend <$100 at. (Yes, that's what we spent)
