I went here last night for my birthday and for Shrimpfest. The outside might not be the most appealing, but the food really makes up for it. I got the fried shrimp and the shrimp scampi. They were both delicious! The food was nice and hot, and the service was fantastic. And the apple pie was fresh, warm, and I’m guessing homemade. Sam was especially great. She was pleasant and helpful. Also, if you want crayons to draw on the table you may have to ask.

Highly recommend this place!! I asked the waitress about suggesting a raw oyster for me…ive never had them. She gave me 1 to try. I baught one of all 5 types they had to try them. I loved them all the prices seem high to me to portion sizes. I got the haddock dinner. For the price… not worth the amount of fish i got. The slaw, sadly was sub par in flavor. Not sure of the oyster prices… so can’t comment on their prices. I wanted to try them… so i got them. Ill definitely go back for oysters and try something different from the menu. Partly, im just not used to big city pricing.

I have gluten sensitivity so I am always on the lookout for places with a GF menu. Shucks did not disappoint! They have a long list of items that can be made GF. I enjoyed haddock, fried shrimp, and Shuck puppies … all delicious!

Hello I just left shucks, down on Leavenworth Street. My son and I had the most best experience from the waiter to the atmosphere. We just felt very comfortable there and welcome there. A small & cozy seafood restaurant with affordable pricing and the most welcoming staff. The food was amazing! Not greasy, not too much breading, big portions. They offer pretty much the entire menu as gluten free and they fry in a different basket but keep all the recipes the same. You don’t find that in many places. We had the risotto and the haddock! Risotto was packed full of flavor but definitely a heavy dish. Haddock was some of the best I have had. Would absolutely come back!

Went in for dinner last weekend after hearing a few local recommendations. The place had a relaxed vibe and wasn’t overly loud, which I liked. I ordered a grilled fish plate with a side of rice and veggies. The fish was fresh and cooked well, not dry, and the seasoning was simple but worked. Portions were fair for the price. Service was decent overall — our server was friendly, though things took a little longer once it got busy. The restaurant looked clean and had a nice coastal feel without being overdone. Nothing overly fancy, but a solid spot if you’re craving seafood and want a comfortable meal without any fuss.

Great price for seafood—especially their happy hour. $4.5 margs is hard to beat. Their oysters were delicious as were the lobster roll and calamari. Had the fish and chips which were good also.

Loved the food here. It was a perfect seafood spot for me and my husband. I am a seafood person, where he is not so much. He doesn’t mind fish and chips, but that is the extent of his seafood. Where I want oyster, crabs, shrimp, claims…. everything. We made it just in time for happy hour and got oysters on special. They were delicious. The staff were friendly and supper quick. Shucks is a great place if you’re looking for a quailty spot to eat.

Everything that we ordered was delicious! Our waitress’ name was Meg and she was amazing!
The raw oysters were really really good and came out quickly. The shuck’s puppies and roulade sauce were so savory and we could tell that they had just been made fresh because they were so warm and crispy. The lobster bisque was creamy and flavorful, and the lobster stuffed mushrooms were out of this world.
Highly suggest going in for their happy hour (2pm to 6pm) to take advantage of their happy hour deals.
