First time here and Darrin, was my server for the evening, I ordered the sobbomb, fried pickles, and blackened shrimp Alfredo. I never had an oyster before and it wasn’t that bad my server was a cheerleader for me while i ate it, the drink was light, but I only took a sip cause I really wanted the oyster and not the shot, the fried pickles was very crispy and juicy that sat on a lettuce leaf with a side of ranch, the blackened shrimp Alfredo was okay, the sauce could use more seasoning, it stated it was a house sauce but tastes like a sauce from a jar which tasted familiar. Upon leaving which I didnt like there was a dog that blocked the entrance way into the restaurant, im guessing it was the owners dog, because a patron would have had the dog sit close to its owner, I didnt like that because as a guest I dont know how temperament the dog may be there was one other guest but he sat at the bar. overall the service was best to me a 5 and food and atmosphere was 3.8

Rachel was such a good server. She was just the right amount of attentive. The crab balls and fish n chips were outstanding! Hot and fresh and not too salty. We will be back!

Shuckin’ Shack Oyster Bar is the best! The food is always fresh and delicious — especially the grilled oysters, they’re my absolute favorite. Drinks are great, the atmosphere and the service is top-notch. Huge shoutout to Gerred — he’s absolutely amazing! Super friendly, attentive, and makes the whole experience even better (and yes, he’s pretty handsome too!). Always a great time here!

We are so excited to welcome a great oyster/seafood place to Alpharetta. First time in a were very impressed with the fresh seafood and quality of preparation. We will be back many times because this place will be around for a long time.
Edit 11/6/25 What happened? We were so disappointed on our second visit I doubt we will go back. Took a friend there for her birthday and the place was almost empty. Two other tables had customers but we had to wave down the waiter to get service? The staff outnumbered the customers! The bartender looked like she was incapable of smiling. Maybe she was not feeling well? The worst part was the food. Overcooked, dried out cod and soggy fries. The slaw was not even the same as we had before. We left an empty restaurant around 7:30 on a Thursday evening. They started out like they cared but somebody dropped the ball.

For a place called the Shuckin’ Shack, these have to be about the worst oysters I’ve ever had. The biggest issue is they weren’t clean. After getting the oysters loose and ready MYSELF, I went to enjoy 1 and ended up with dirt and seaweed in and on my mouth. These folks literally do nothing but pop the top shell off the oyster, slap it on a bed of ice, and serve it to you. No cleaning, no preparation. Don’t recommend anything here but for the love of God if you must get anything, avoid the oysters.

For entrees, the 716 was ordered (basically a shrimp wrap) and the Low Country Boil. The latter is shrimp, potatoes, sliced kielbasa, and corn with slaw on the side. If you look at the photo, you can see how pitiful the food looks. Seasoning on the shell of the unpeeled shrimp and none of that flavor made it on the actual meat of the shrimp.

Service was slow and horrible for a place that was very much not busy. At the time of my visit, there were maybe 5 folks at the bar and about 3 other tables occupied besides my table. Ordered an adult beverage and ended up never getting it. Waitress said it was going to be out shortly and then came back 15 minutes later to tell me they actually didn’t have the ingredients in stock to make my drink. I had never eaten here so I had no expectations but man of I would’ve, not a single 1 would’ve been met. I usually get dessert to try to get the full experience of a restaurant on my 1st visit but didn’t even bother at this place.

If you like mid to low par food and service, check this place out. Otherwise, look elsewhere.

My husband and I went to Shuckin’ Shack in downtown Alpharetta for Valentine’s Day. We’ve been to the location in Cumming one time but really loved this location. The atmosphere is great and the music was great! They were super busy as you can imagine on Valentine’s Day but our server, Quinn, was doing an amazing job. He needed to be cloned last night! We were in no rush so it didn’t bother us that it took longer than usual – Quinn was really good at making sure he got to us when he could. And the food was really delicious! Quinn recommended the oysters with cheese and jalapeños as well as the crab balls for appetizers and both were excellent! We’ll be back!

Been looking forward to this place since they opened and finally went.
The server completely forgot about us for a good 15+ mins before he remembered we were there. Of course we had to wave someone down to get him.
He was very knowledgeable about the menu but disappeared quite a bit our order. I ordered a drink and finally got it after 2 tables got theirs even though they got to table after we did.
The food was very underwhelming. While the clams were small in size, the fried fish had 3x the breading then there was fish. You couldn’t even taste the fish part.
After we had finished our entrees, they informed us that our appetizer was missing the crab part of it but would replace it with something else. We decided to cancel it since they didn’t tell us until after we had eaten the entrees. They said they would remove it from our check like it was a favor even though we never got it.
Left hungry and disappointed.

This place is great! Had an awesome experience here thanks to the bartender Quinton. He took excellent care of me from start to finish—super attentive, friendly, and clearly knows his stuff. His food recommendation was spot-on: the shrimp was absolutely delicious, and the Bloody Maria he suggested and concocted was perfectly balanced and packed with flavor and spice. Superior service plus great food and drinks made the whole visit a win. If you’re sitting at the bar, ask for Quinton—you’ll be in good hands!

A great spot for oysters, but I personally love their large seafood platter. The crab legs are actually really good which is always hard to find when not eating somewhere coastal. The owner came to check on us and he was super nice, and our bartenders that were tending to us were perfect. Also recommend the outside upper deck for drinks and to chill when the weather is right!
