I came in and had my first ever oysters! They were nice and fresh and had a good selection of local and semi local options to choose from. I also had a shrimp po boy with hushpuppies both of which were delicious! I thought the establishment had a really nice atmosphere and a nice selection of menu options that I’d definitely come back in to try.

We had a great experience at the Shuckin Shack! The servers were wonderful and all of the steamed foods were delicious! We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and would definitely recommend it for people in Topsail/Surf City. Also order two of the hush puppies – they are so perfect!!

Everything was great, we were seated right away. We got our drinks and ordered our appetizer, calamari. Once that arrived we ordered the Saul T’s steam pot. Everything was delicious and no crazy wait on anything. Definitely happy with our service!

Always a shucking good time here. Wife and I went twice in a week because we were reminded of how good the food was. We got the steam bucket, fresh local oysters and some baked oysters. I’m not sure which was better, the service or the food because they were both above your normal expectations for a busy chain restaurant. Look forward to going back.

Stopped in after a visit to the turtle rescue. It was not too busy and we were seated immediately. We started with local oysters that were large and very fresh. Not a briny flavor but a little sweet.
The fried local spots were crisp and flaky. The fried clam strip were large and not too chewy. They had a lot of local oysters available and certainly need to go back to eat more.

Stopped in for raw oysters and cocktail. Savannah, our waitress was absolutely phenomenal. Great oyster selection especially the Jewels. Will be back and great place to stop if you’re in the area!

Love, love, love this little restaurant in surf city, with amazing fresh seafood, and this laid-back atmosphere. Totally family-friendly with large tables with rolls of paper towel for mopping yourself and your children up after saturating your crab legs in butter, a bucket in the middle of the table to throw all your oyster shells and other seafood leftovers. Lots of sports playing on the TV and while there’s often a wait to get in, they have added outdoor seating and a limited menu service while you are awaiting your table. The staff are great. Their sanitation score is 100% which is virtually impossible to achieve in a place that serves seafood, and you’ve got to try their clam chowder highly recommend.

The food was very good and fresh. I was a little concerned because the waitress said all the fish was fried and you couldn’t get anything grilled. I wanted a grilled fish sandwich but was able to get grilled fish tacos and it was very good. They had a wonderful selection of local (like down the road local) oysters. Also delicious..

Much better than expected; I came here at the recommendation of a local. Wait staff doubled as bartenders, but they knew the menu well. Large sports screens can be seen by every seat in the house. Menu offers seafood fried (Calabash), grilled, steamed, blackened, or raw, in addition to sandwiches, salads, and wings. The cook knew how to perfectly time the oysters, scallops, and mussels. Love the larger orders (Steampot and Cappy’s Roast). Sample their pineapple jalapeño mule and their painkiller! We had so much fun adding their selection of hot sauces to our entrees. You can bet,we shall return.

So pleased we visited! Thank you, thank you, thank you! We saw your dog friendly patio reviewed in Topsail Magazine, and you delighted! Our pup, Wren, was treated super well by your team… from the hostess, kind gentleman that kept checking on us and our AWESOME server, Annie. And the food… was outstanding! We shared the Low country boil and it was soooo good! We were bummed we couldn’t finish it all, but took home leftovers! Thanks again. Super glad we made this part of our vacation memory.
