Shrimp ‘N Stuff Restaurant has affordable, delicious seafood dinners, po-boys, gumbo and salads and have been an island tradition since opening our doors. We take our reputation for freshness, flavor and value seriously and work hard to ensure that every meal that is served meets our high standards of excellence. Our gumbo is made from scratch in our back kitchen. We peel, devein and bread every shrimp you eat. In fact, we bread all of our seafood ourselves from the shrimp to the oysters, to the crab ball (yum yum) to the fish. We make all of our sauces in house too. You have to try the remoulade sauce – you’ll be asking for more. The Shrimp Salad is made several times a day to keep up with the demand. I think you get the picture!

Fried seafood, hushpuppies & gumbo fill the menu at this cozy seafood spot with a shady patio.

We’ve been coming here for over 20 years. Found it back then as the “place where locals eat”, and it’s still a warm and friendly atmosphere.
We had shrimp salad po boys and cups of gumbo. It was delicious as always!

Our first visit after watching it for quite some time. We went to the avenue o location in Galveston. Very casual inside and outside dining with seafood gumbo, crawfish, poor boy, hush puppies and french fries. Very relaxed atmosphere and a fun place to stop for lunch or dinner.

We make a 30 minute drive about once every quarter to visit Shrimp N Stuff. I typically get the Seafood platter and my girlfriend gets the shrimp or fish tacos. Their fried food, other than the fried oysters , are typically fried to perfection. Oysters can be harder to fry.

If you’re looking for an authentic, no-frills seafood experience in Galveston, Shrimp ‘N Stuff is the place to be. This spot perfectly captures the laid-back island vibe, focusing on what matters most: delicious, fresh-from-the-gulf seafood.

Judging by the classic fried platter, you’re in for a treat. The basket arrives generously loaded with perfectly golden-fried fish and shrimp, boasting a crispy coating that gives way to tender, flavorful seafood inside. Accompanied by a heap of french fries and classic hushpuppies, it’s the quintessential coastal meal.

The atmosphere is just as you’d hope for from a beloved local joint—casual, relaxed, and unpretentious. It’s the ideal place to kick back with a cold beer and enjoy a satisfying meal without any fuss.

Overall: For a delicious and authentic taste of classic Galveston seafood, Shrimp ‘N Stuff is a must-visit. It’s simple, satisfying, and gets everything right.

Great service. Food came hot and fresh.

When you walk in, the counter to order is right there before seating. We found a table first, grabbed a few menus, then went back to order.

Free refills, condiments, etc. No table service but no problem.

Absolutely amazing food and close drive to the beach. If you like fish, do yourself a favor and try the fried catfish! Amazing. Nice patio dining where the sun does not hit. Pet friendly.

Every time we visit Galveston, there’s one place we always make a point to stop—and that’s Shrimp N Stuff. Tucked away from the tourist-heavy bustle of the Strand and Seawall, this local favorite in downtown Galveston offers some of the best seafood on the island—without the inflated prices or overcrowded vibe.

Their fish tacos are absolutely unbeatable. I especially love them with the fried catfish, which is always crispy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The tacos are generously topped with fresh shredded cabbage, a hodgepodge of fixings: corn, beans, etc, and a smoky chipotle-style sauce that ties everything together beautifully. It’s the perfect balance of crunch, spice, and flavor.

My kids are obsessed with the fried catfish filets—they’re golden, tender, and never greasy. It’s comforting, Southern-style seafood that’s both family-friendly and packed with flavor. The whole menu is filled with delicious options, from shrimp and fish to po’boys and more, but we keep coming back to those tacos and catfish!

The atmosphere at Shrimp N Stuff is casual and welcoming, with both indoor and outdoor seating available depending on your mood or the weather. Whether you’re grabbing a relaxed lunch or enjoying a breezy dinner outside, the vibe is always friendly and laid-back. The staff is consistently warm, helpful, and attentive, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.

Parking is easy, with convenient spots available both along the street and in their private lot out back—a rarity in many parts of Galveston! And unlike many of the restaurants on the Seawall or Strand, Shrimp N Stuff feels authentic and local—not touristy or overpriced.

This place has become a tradition for our family, and we honestly can’t imagine a trip to Galveston without a stop here. If you’re looking for fresh, flavorful seafood in a relaxed setting, Shrimp N Stuff is the place to go. Hands down, the best seafood in Galveston!
