We stopped by Shrimp Basket during our road trip. We ordered blackened redfish, seafood basket and Gumbo. Everything is delicious and the service is fast and excellent. The waitress was very attentive, friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. She gave us good recommendation. Food arrived quickly and seasoned lightly, not too salty which we liked very much.
We had a great meal and will come back here given another opportunity.

We had the shrimp basket, and it truly did not disappoint. Every employee we encountered — from the servers on — was kind, upbeat, and incredibly attentive. We decided to try it because of how convenient it was to the airport since my friend was catching her flight, and it turned out to be a wonderful choice. To our great satisfaction, the food was superb, and the positive energy of the place really lifted our spirits.

Lovely environment, friendly service! Fastest bar service I’ve every had. My husband had the shrimp basket and I had the Blackened Redfish w/ seafood cream sauce. I ordered a side of delicious green beans. We had corn fritters for our appetizer and keylime pie for dessert. Everything was delicious We will be back very affordable.

Brittany gave me the best service with a smile from the door to the table. The seafood is seasoned unlike some barrel joints. The portions are huge and filling. I highly recommend if you are a local or passing through after shopping at the outlet stores.

Saw this little place on my drive to the hotel. It looked interesting so I had to try it. First impression was, it’s a hole in the wall. Best ones. It was early so not many people were there. The menu had a good amount of selections for dinner.
I asked for recommendations. The fish, shrimp, grits, pasta, chicken, and raw oysters. I finally settled on the spicy chicken pasta, recommended. Then I got a side of popcorn shrimp. I had to try it. Both were very good. The servings were pretty big.
I just knew that this place was gonna be good. The service was great. The food was good. Everything was just a little better than expected. Oh, and don’t forget to use their hot sauce. It’s the best I’ve had in a little while. I would have brought a bottle back with me but those TSA folks are a pain. They would have taken it and i would have been pissed.
I even told some local folks about this little gem right in their bank yard. They had never tried it and they were from the area.
I recommend this place and will be back when I’m in the area again.

We LOVE this place! We eat here EVERYTIME we are down in Mississippi visiting! The food is INCREDIBLE! The atmosphere is GREAT! The staff is AMAZING! We can’t say enough good about this establishment! The food is ALWAYS AMAZING! We’ve all had multiple dishes over the years and haven’t had a complaint about one! If you are ever in the vicinity of a SHRIMP BASKET restaurant, definitely give it a go!

This is a nice little stop in Gulfport. The atmosphere is comfortable and welcoming, and for our first time to stop and dine in Mississippi, it was a treat! Brittany was our waitress, and the southern hospitality flowed through her, which makes one feel right at home. The food was plentiful and good. I highly recommend the grilled shrimp as the seasoning is wonderful, so much so, I had hoped that they sold it to customers. They do not, but if we are to pass through again, I would reorder this again!

We stopped to grab a bite to eat after work and I must admit I am pleasantly surprised. Our waitress Amanda was awesome! Not only was she funny but her recommendation were on point but she was funny and super friendly! She made the whole experience better!! I would definitely recommend this place and ask for Amanda!!

This review totally on the food itself, not the restaurant vibe. So, I’m traveling here for work and decided to venture out to try something different from my usual places while in Gulfport.
I saw that this place had 4.6 stars, so I figured it was a good place to eat since it got high ratings. Well, that was a bad decision. The atmosphere of the restaurant was cool. The waitresses were extremely personable and friendly.
The food, it was not what I’m used to when it comes to seafood. When I got my food and got into the car, I could smell that the grease used to fry the food was old. It had a terrible smell. When I opened the container, it was definitely old grease… ♂️
Well, I decided to try the food for the taste. I ordered the Seafood Basket, which consisted of Shrimp, Gulf popcorn shrimp, oysters, flounder, and stuffed crab. All of this was fried, if you didn’t know.
Basically, there was no seasoning at all for none of the food. The flounder strips were horrible. No seasoning and bland. The popcorn shrimp was NOT cleaned. See photo for proof. The stuffed crab was nasty! It was like it wasn’t cooked all the way. Very moist! The only things I could really stand to eat, with the addition of a lot of hot sauce and cocktail sauce, were the regular shrimp and oysters.
Let’s just say I was highly disappointed in the meal coming from the Gulf. This was my experience and you’ll have to make your own decision on trying this restaurant. But, I hope this will give you some insight.
