It all began in 1993, when two local boys in Gulf Shores, Alabama decided to open up a casual family-focused seafood restaurant on the Gulf Coast. The idea was to create a restaurant where people would feel welcome to be themselves, families could afford to dine out together and strangers would leave as friends.
Coastal vacationers demanded that Shrimp Basket expand to provide this incredible seafood value to those unable to be at the beach year round.
Today, we’re happy to offer locations across the Southeast for family and friends to feel a part of the beach, dine and enjoy delicious seafood!
At the Shrimp Basket, our goal is to make sure that you – our friends – leave happy and satisfied after every visit.
Informal chain outpost offering a variety of fried seafood dishes & an oyster bar.

Received a Facebook ad our first night in gulf shores advertising $.79 raw oysters on tuesdays, which immedietly caught my interest. When we arrived, I received ANOTHER targeted ad for a free appetizer if you sign up for the app. The oysters were perfect, nicely sized and fresh. Their hotsauce was excellent, which really added to the experience. The app never gave us the coupon for the appetizer, but after explaining to our waitress, she took care of it for us. Great service, will be back again.

We got into town late and checked into the hotel across the street. Shrimp Basket was one of the few places still open but it was approaching their closing time. We ran over there to see if their kitchen was still open by chance to order some take out. The servers were kind and checked with the kitchen team. We were in luck and were able to order a couple dishes for take out. The food was really great! The server made sure we had utensils, sauces, and ketchup. The fried flounder was great! The bang bang shrimp was our favorite! Huge thank you to the team working there tonight. We will be visiting again, but earlier next time!

Stopped for lunch while staying at the hotel across the street, and it did not disappoint! The Boom Boom Shrimp was the highlight, crispy, flavorful, and just the right amount of kick. The rest of the food was fresh and delicious too.
Service was ok, overly fast but friendly and attentive enough. The atmosphere was relaxed and beachy, which made for a great dining experience. Definitely a spot I’d come back to for good seafood in a laid-back setting.

Seasoning was great. We got a two person Boil bag and the shrimp were completely over cooked. It wasn’t cleaned. We were highly disappointed for a $120 meal. Okra was good and a few off the sides, but I would check every shrimp you have, check and clean it. We ordered our food online, we did not dine-in. We will not be ordering food from here again. Very, very disappointed .

We ate here 3 times during the week!
Everything was so good!
We tried different items each visit. I’m not sure what i liked best, but the low country boil for 2 was phenomenal and more than enough for us.
The Bushwhackers were amazing! Try the banana pudding one. Dude!!

Had a fantastic experience at Shrimp Basket! The food was great, but what really made the visit special was the amazing staff. Our bartender Dallas was outstanding—friendly, attentive, and made excellent drinks. Manager Travis was clearly on top of everything and checked in to make sure everything was perfect. Huge thanks as well to our wonderful servers Brittany, Sam, Joy and Logan for their great attitudes and excellent service. This team truly knows how to make guests feel welcome. We’ll definitely be back!

Nice place after a day playing in the Gulf. The oysters on the half shell were my favorite. The stuffed crab was good. My fried foods were just OK, but I’m not a huge fried food fan. The fried oysters were definitely over fried. The french fries on the other hand were great! If you’re looking for a quick seafood place before or after your beach day, give them a chance!

Food was delicious! Hands down the best meal of our week-long vacation.
There was plenty of parking in front and behind the restaraunt, and our server, Logan, was top notch. The photo op chair out front was a fun way to wrap up lunch, too!

Initially we had a server that apparently did not enjoy her job. We then got a server that was the most delightful person. I think her name was Kaylee or kylie, but she made the visit much more enjoyable
