The service was a bit of a rollercoaster. It took the staff a while to take our order, which was slightly frustrating, but once the order was in, the delivery of the dishes was impressively swift. Their attentiveness improved as the meal went on, and they were polite and accommodating throughout.
The cozy atmosphere added a nice touch, making it a pleasant place to enjoy a meal, even if it lacked a distinct charm. Shri Ganesh is a reliable spot for a comforting Indian meal, but it doesn’t quite hit the mark for a truly standout dining experience.
The food is a bit spicy even if you tell them to not put spice for kids, so I really recommend this restaurant for spice lovers.
Overall the restaurant gives you very happy warm, indian house type vibes. Really heart warming indeed!! 🙂
Recommend trying the Rogan Josh
For this restaurant I think it’s the average level compare to London ones.
If you love spicy food, do tell the waiter to make it spicy for you, as the restaurant adjusted to the Italian standard of spiciness.
It’s nice if you carve for Indian food in Milan.
At the entrance, visitors are welcomed by an eye-catching shrine containing Ganesha, who is always covered in fresh flower garlands and other offerings. Incense and candles are always burning and diffuse the environment with a delicate scent, which doesn’t disturb the meal at all. The main room sits in dim light and is nicely decorated – I really like the combination of mid XX century Indian posters, Ganesha icons and Indian furniture. While I’ve always dined inside before, last night we chose a table on the pavement outside: as the street is quiet, it’s lovely to have the option
Staff are polite, service is professional and efficient. The owner in his immacolate white tunic is always around, greeting people and supporting table service. Shri Ganesh is a favourite of mine, a local gem and a great spot for currys – most probably the best Indian food you can get in Milan.
