The $250.00 private room was a new and fun experience. We tried so many NEW foods and left with stomachs full for sure .

This place is so nice. I came here with my Boyfriend and we got seated pretty quick. Service was so nice and the seat we were at was nice too. We ordered and there was little wait time for our food and we got about 5 items. It was super good. Everything we got was amazing. I will be back and bring others as well.

OMG, I absolutely love this place. I’ve gone here numerous times over the years I lived in the area. And every single time I’ve gone, I’ve had a great experience.

Shoya Izakaya is one of the better Japanese restaurants I’ve been to. The staff is attentive and friendly, and we had reservations for a corner private area. It was great for a birthday celebration. There was a $400 spending minimum for the reservation, but the food was affordable. The skewers were my favorite, but they also have udon, ramen, sushi, and curry. Overall, it’s a great place.

I love this place but the owner/manager(?) always finds a way to ruin my experience there whenever he’s there. They stick us in a stuffed corner when other tables are available, so I ask them politely to move us to a bigger table because we ordered over 12 items for 2 people and they said order first and if it doesn’t fit the table they will move us. Ran like a joke but they’re lucky nobody else offers what they make anywhere in this area. Picture shows the food we ordered AND we’re missing 3 items. I told them to just take my ramen bowl because there wasn’t any room for them to fit anything.

Easily one of the best Japanese restaurants in Atlanta in my opinion. The food and service is consistently wonderful and the extensive menu definitely makes you want to return to try more. Love love looovve the small plate dishes and highly recommend trying it.

Sad to say — didn’t love the food at Shoya the other night. I’ve been looking forward to trying this place for a looong time as I love izakaya-style restaurants, but most everything we ordered missed the mark in one way or another.

Shoya’s sushi dishes are always consistently fresh! This is my 5th visit and they haven’t failed me yet. Our server Mark was excellent. The menu is vast so you must go back to try everything you can. Be prepared to wait a for a table (and well worth it), as it is always busy and your table time will be limited to one or 2 hours. Itadakimasu!
