Pumped they opened this location! Food was great! I used to eat at Shomars all the time when I lived in Charlotte. I remember taking breaks when I worked in Eastland Mall and would get a Chicken Pita, so I had to try it. How in the world did they managed to keep the great flavor throughout all these years and across all the locations is hard to believe. Good job Shomars!

Consistently great service and great food. We’ve been here numerous times and had several items, gyro, chicken souvlaki, pita burger, and salads. Everything was delicious. We love this local chain and wish we had one in Georgia!

I have not had a great gyro in years! I’m talking since I moved south in 2016 from Pittsburgh, PA & my hometown New Castle, PA where i grew up eating various types of Greek/Middle Eastern food. We recently moved to NC in Jan 2025. I never heard of Showmar’s until I read there was a location opening up here in Midland/Locust area. My daughter ordered via Doordash for me from Pittsburgh as I wasn’t feeling well after a back procedure…OMG it was so delicious!! My husband & I then went together to dine inside and again, we both enjoyed our meals and it was alot to where neither one could finish. I had the mini Gyro this time and still had a few bites left.
I plan on trying other dishes/sandwiches they have too – next week be a chicken gyro as I’ve never had that before.
Inside dining is small and they ask that you wait for entire party before you seat yourself etc and it’s understandable.
I highly recommend you give them a try.

I had high expectations going to showmars based on what I was hearing from others online, but it was sadly a big disappointment. It’s basically a fast food joint that happens to serve lamb. They ask for tip at a fast food joint where you order the food at the counter, and for two people the total cost was almost $45, which is insane. The fries had literally no salt or seasoning, the lamb was okay, the rice was mushy and tasted like Ben’s 60 second rice, the chicken was okay, and the salads were okay. But none of it was worth the price of $45. I’d definitely be hard pressed to go back at those prices for that quality of food.

Flounder and shrimp was good. Original pita burger was not bad. A bit too much sauce tho. Staff was friendly and attentive. Would return.

I really liked the chicken pita, first time trying tzatziki too. Very good experience. It was kind of difficult to keep all the filling inside the pita but overall i really liked it.

Erica was very attentive and checked on us several times during our visit. It was nice, in this day & age, to see a young person performing the duties of their job. Kudos to Erica, while the other 4 employees stood in a circle talking.

Showmars in Locust allows customers to bring pets into their restaurant. We had ordered and were sitting in a booth when a customer entered with a dog in a stroller and sat down. The employees helped rearrange the furniture to accommodate a pet dog. The customer insisted it was a service dog. It might have been an emotional support animal, which is not allowed indoor eating areas by NC law. The employees refused to remove it and refunded half my money. If they don’t know the laws for animals in restaurants, which is pretty easy, what do they know about the more complicated laws on cleanliness? The employees seemed pretty befuddled. I don’t eat with animals in accordance with NC law. Just sayin
