If you’re looking for the best fish sandwich in Gastonia, North Carolina, you need to try the World Famous Fish Sandwich at Showmars. I recently visited Showmars in Gastonia and was seriously impressed.
The hand-battered Pollock was cooked perfectly — crispy on the outside and flaky, tender, and fresh on the inside. You can tell it’s made fresh to order. The tartar sauce was creamy and balanced, complementing the fish without overpowering it. The bun was soft and fresh, and the portion size was generous.
The restaurant was clean and welcoming, and the staff was friendly and efficient. Overall, this was one of the most delicious fish sandwiches I’ve had in a long time.
If you’re in Gastonia and craving fresh seafood or a great lunch spot, Showmars is definitely worth a visit. I’ll absolutely be back!

Couldn’t tell if this location was even open when we walked up. No “Open” sign in the door. It was unlocked so we went in. Felt like a dungeon inside. Minimal lighting. Every window blind pulled down. I tried to raise the blinds to get light by our booth but it was locked.
We ordered burgers. They gave us pita burgers. Never asked what kind of bread we wanted. We were with our kids and kids are picky about food… Why default to a pita over a normal bun?
No ketchup at the table. No silverware. We asked for some, they brought one fork and one knife for 4 people.
Just a weird overall experience there. One of the worse showmars experiences I’ve had.

Just picked up a grilled chicken salad! It was exceptional! I think its the best salad around.
Honestly, this was one of the best salads I’ve had in a long time! Parking was a bit tight. Restaurant was clean. Service was prompt. Food was delicious! I have a couple of favorite menu items. Ingredients were remarkably fresh. That freshness was what makes this restaurant such a good choice. Employees were respectful and courteous. Thanks!

My experience is somewhat confusing. The kids that work up in the establishment are pretty gross . I’ve observed picking nose , wiping nose on apron , missing items from my food order , coughing and sneezing constantly. The bathroom continually smells like rot . I love the flounder but the presenters make it hard for the food to be enjoyable. If they would start cracking down on these employees I believe this place could be great .

This place wins my vote! A perfect union between fast food and a great dine-in ambiance. The restaurant is extremely clean and very nicely furnished and decorated.
I ordered a fish sandwich. It came out really quickly, and it was piping hot. Some of the freshest fish I’ve ever had in a sandwich. Absolutely delicious. Very fairly priced. I can’t wait to go again. Yum!

Very clean restaurant. The food was fresh and came out quickly. They have highchairs and baby changing stations in the restroom. The portion sizes are huge but drinks do not come with kids meals. This store follows the corporate menu. The staff were friendly and can give you great advice on the menu. Located in a strip mall but has ample parking.

Showmars is a fantastic place to eat! The prices are not stupid expensive. You can get a great meal at a great price. The restaurant is always clean and service is always great. I feel like since they have moved they are more limited on space inside. Parking outside close to the restaurant is also limited. If you cannot find a space to park, then you have to park in the spots across the street. It is worth it. Try the fish sandwich combo! My favorite!

So always loved Showmars. Only Showmars I have ever been to that refused cash. Order 20.00 worth of food but I cant get it because I am paying with a 50 dollar bill. So let me get this right you rather skip getting any money. Cause you dont want to give change back.
