We had lunch here on Monday. This Showmar’s is conveniently located close to Novant Presbyterian Hospital. Very busy corner but nice views. Hubby got the fish sandwich and chili. I got the Greek salad, salmon on a bed of rice. He said hos was good and the habenaro hot sauce spiced up the fish sandwich to his liking. My salmon was a little dry, but I dipped it in the tetratizi sauce and that helped a lot. I wouldn’t get the grilled salmon again but the atmosphere was nice

I’m rating this place five stars based on what it is. I notice a lot of the time people go to a place like showmars and expect it to be a Michelin experience. Everyone was very friendly, the food was good, I got checked on periodically, it was clean, and I got brought a to-go box and a bag when I needed it. It’s a great place to grab something quick for lunch or dinner.

Messed up my order when I ordered takeout clean environment good food staff is friendly. Just doesn’t know exactly what they’re doing. Messed up. A few other people’s orders gotten mixed up. New training would be helpful. Still good place to eat.

I ordered fry fish in a pita, they are kind to accommodate my order to replace bun with a pita.I haven’t been dining at Showmars for several years, finally got a chance. The onion ring is good, crispy. Fish is kind of plain, not as good as I remembered. Compare with the Showmars was located in Hearst Building, which was closed years ago, I prefer that location. Still, recalled my good memories.

Today I decided to order for curbside because I had just left a doctors appointment from that hospital. Not too far from this location and I adore the fish sandwich. I always order it with tarter sauce on the side. Today through the app, the tater tots popped up first, so I decided to click on that since I had not had it in a while. The fish sandwich was delicious btw but the smell that I noticed right after the person gave me my food and I rolled the window up in my car was very strong, the smell I could only associate with ( old ) cooking grease. I begin trying to smell everything first, the sandwich and noticed that it was not the smell coming from the fish sandwich, so when I picked up one tater tot and put it to my nose, I instantly recognize that it was the tater tot that smelled like the strong old cooking grease. I decided not to eat it. I did throw them away and did not return back to the store to get a refund because it was a meal, so I’m pretty sure they would’ve looked at me crazy if I decided to ask for a refund but just wanted to notify you that today you all should definitely change that cooking grease so that no one else has to experience that smell. It’s super strong and super alarming..

My wife and I had a late afternoon lunch after visiting a midtown doctor’s appointment and stopped in for a quick bite . Our fish sandwiches and shared French fries were delicious as always ! The staff is always polite and ever so helpful! Never disappoints!

I’ve been there a few hoping because it’s 5 minutes away from me. I go hoping for better food each time…I only order flounder fried crispy and tater tots each time. And each time I have to send it back to the kitchen to fry a little more. This the last straw I sent the fish to be dropped again, it came back with soggy fries instead of tator tots. Get home and the fish still mushy. I’m so hurt because this 1 of my favorite meals from Showmars. Guess I’ll press my luck and go to other locations in Charlotte
