Loved this place! Love the ambiance; love the food & loved the service. Got seated right away and immediately the hostess delivered a large bowl of popcorn and a pitched of water – the popcorn was a nice surprise! Waiter recommended the burgers do we got a couple of Bryce Canyon Sunrise burgers and a couple of Portabella mushroom burgers. The burgers were KILLER and I’d go back just for the burgers again, but there were several other menu items that looked great. They have nice tables for both inside and outside and the night we were there, they had live music.

Showdowns is my go-to for dinner when visiting Bryce! The atmosphere can’t be beat with the half indoor, half outdoor seating. Food is yummy, and they always have live music playing. The seating is limited, so it can take a bit to get a table, but I would say it’s worth the wait!

This is a decent place. Very attentive service when we went early on a Saturday. Very casual, country setting. After a long day of hiking we were hoping for something a little more comfortable to sit on than a picnic bench. We shared the cheeseburger and half chicken. Plenty of good food. We were wishing they had AC or something to cool us down after a day with a lot of sun and heat.

We enjoyed our stay in Tropic, a delightful little town near Bryce Canyon National Park with a population of around 500.
Choices are limited for dinner in a small town, but we enjoyed Showdowns—just a short walk from our inn. The atmosphere was fun, with seating both inside and out. A country singer performs nightly. Food is quite good, and we enjoyed the free popcorn.

There are not than many places to eat near Bryce Canyon national park, so we loved finding this quaint, relaxing open air barn style restaurant with live music and good food! My husband had the bacon jam cheese burger and Ihad the salad & soup combo with focaccia grilled cheese and pesto. We really enjoyed the live country music and pleasant atmosphere. Try Showdown in Tropic, Utah. 15 minutes from Bryce City.

Such a super fun stop to find on our way from Bryce to Escalante. The steak was cooked perfectly and was great for my 10 year old who ate it all. My 9 year old devoured his hamburger and declared it delicious! My husband ordered the trout and said it was fantastic. The brisket I ordered was good. My portion included a lot of burnt ends, which isn’t my favorite but I know most people love that. The live music was the real treat. Perfect vibe we were hoping for.

My husband and I have recommended this restaurant to everyone we meet while on our trip around the Grand Canyon. If we hear them mention going in that direction, we make sure to tell them about Showdowns. Why? The steaks are the best we’ve had, hands down. The service is so personal. You can really tell they love what they do and enjoy serving each guest with care. One particular night we got caught on a trail and were famished. We arrived a little after closing and we asked if we could place a to go order. They said yes and even allowed us to stay and eat there. We loved this restaurant so much that we came back a second night (2 hours out of our way). We wish we had showdowns back home. But you better believe we will be back!
4 on atmosphere due to live music being a little too loud at times.

A very fun place. Great music! Great service! The best ribs we have ever had! But the peanut butter dessert in cup brought me to tears. AMAZING!

Come for the lovely, country atmosphere and awesome live music, but maybe skip the food. Good prices, but unfortunately most dishes we got were very salty (the pastas especially!), the only good one was the pork jam burger which we enjoyed. Service was amazing though and generally a nice place to sit and drink some beer.

Had a fantastic experience at Showdowns near Bryce Canyon! As someone with symptomatic celiac disease, I’m very careful with what I eat—and I had no symptoms at all here, which is always a huge relief.
Their menu clearly marks gluten-free options, and there are plenty to choose from—soups, salads, BBQ, and burgers (though the burgers are served without a bun). They don’t have a dedicated gluten-free fryer, so unfortunately the fries aren’t safe, but there are great alternatives.
I had a cheeseburger with mashed potatoes and a side salad, and everything was really tasty. The atmosphere was amazing—live country music and a warm, rustic setting that I absolutely loved. Would definitely go back!
