I knocked off one star because the chicken in my chicken parm was obviously overcooked and they should have noticed. They didn’t. It was still an above-average meal, but that tiny detail is the difference between good and excellent. The wait staff was excellent and well trained, atmosphere was good. I’d definitely go back and give it a second try, but if they failed again, it would drop from my list.
Springfield overall has below-average food standards and the ones that will survive will do it because of a commitment to perfection. Unlike Seattle, New York, and other big cities, where you have to be outstanding to make it, here people don’t seem to care as much, so they could do fine as is, but I’d aim a bit higher and this place should do well. The most important thing in the restaurant world is to sustain top-of-mind awareness, and you do that through memorable experiences.
The food is nothing short of amazing, but the experience doesn’t stop there. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between refined and comforting, sophisticated yet welcoming. The attention to detail is evident in every interaction, from the attentive staff to the owners themselves, who (along with their sons!) make you feel genuinely cared for.
This is more than a meal, it’s an experience I can’t recommend highly enough.
We’ve been meaning to visit Show Me Chuy for quite some time after hearing glowing recommendations from friends. My lovely wife chose it for dinner tonight — and it turned out to be a wonderful surprise.
From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly. Turning the corner, we discovered a cozy full bar, a lovely dining room, and thoughtful touches throughout that suggested this was something special.
We started with drinks — a Tuscany Twist for her and a Negra Modelo for me — along with an appetizer of Portobello a la Chuy and a bread basket. The complex, layered flavors were Sooo good, setting the perfect tone for the rest of the evening. Our server, Jazmin, was pleasant, attentive, and struck the balance between friendly and professional.
For our entrées, my wife chose the Pollo Piccata and I opted for the Seafood Linguine, both accompanied by Strawberry Salads. The pacing of the meal was spot-on, each course arriving with just the right amount of time in between to savor the experience.
When the entrées arrived, we were truly impressed — sauces rich and full of depth, beautifully plated, and absolutely delicious. It’s rare to see that level of care and flavor in Springfield.
Show Me Chuy exceeded every expectation. We’ll definitely be returning — and next time, we’ll be bringing friends.
We’re visiting from Austin, Texas, and decided to stop at Show Me Chuy for our wedding anniversary dinner—and WOW, we were blown away. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt special and one-of-a-kind.
Everything we ordered was phenomenal, but the steaks were truly next level. They beat most traditional steakhouses by a mile. The shrimp sauce paired perfectly with the steak, and the potatoes and vegetables were seasoned and cooked to perfection.
We loved every single thing about this place. If you’re in Springfield and want an unforgettable meal, this is THE place. Highly, highly recommend!
The service, atmosphere and food were very good. My steak was cooked to perfection.
However, the prices are maybe $5-7 more a plate than they should be. Also, we ordered a dessert to go. We didn’t see it on the menu. Thought maybe it would be $9. They charge $14 for a piece of tiramisu.. it was decent. The lady fingers were overly soaked making the dessert quite watery. Overall it was a great experience and we would return.
And I can’t say enough about the live music by Lyrelle, it was truly exceptional. Their performance was not only amazing but added an elegant, captivating ambiance that perfectly complemented the entire dining experience. If you’re in Springfield and looking for a place that marries outstanding cuisine with remarkable live music, Show Me Chuy is the ideal choice.

I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and my visit. The best part of coming to this restaurant for me is the big and funny personality of Chef Chuy. We are definitely customers for life and can’t wait to go back.
