The Shovel Handle Pub is beautifully restored post and beam barn built in 1842. An actual working barn up until the 1970s, the original cow stanchions still hang in the barn along with artifacts from the farming days of Moody Farm. With views of now open Black Mountain Ski Resort out our windows, sit fireside at this great ski-in/ski-out location. Family-friendly live entertainment is offered nightly from 6pm-9pm! The Shovel Handle Pub also provides a great venue for weddings and parties up to 140 people.

The food was great and conveniently located next to the inn. We went multiple nights for the steak tips, j burger, chicken sandwich, and chicken and waffles. All were delicious. Both nights were pretty quiet and had live music. We were hoping to hang out there to listen to the music but were provided the check pretty quickly both nights despite the restaurant being slow. Other than that there servers were pleasant and food came out quickly.

Got recommended by Christmas farm inn got a free app token from them! Really good food the place is quite the Lil hidden gem! The nachos with pork belly was good! Side salad looked like a full size! Wild rice was seriously good! Didn’t expect the wild rice to have so much flavor! I’d definitely recommend it! Nice Lil cozy place to enjoy a few rounds and have some good eats!

They open at 5 and we got there at 5:30 and it was already packed upstairs. Wish the bar was bigger! Drinks were well poured. Didn’t eat, but saw some very tasty looking chicken wings and burgers going by. Outdoor fire pits are a nice bonus.

Really wanted to give this place a higher rating because the locals are nice and it’s a lovely NH town. I had fish and chips and my hubs had a cheeseburger. The haddock seemed fresh but both of our chips (fries) turned cold quickly. My hubs cheeseburger was small. He ordered it medium rare but arrived well done.

Stopped in here again to try something new. Got the Bavarian Pretzel Sticks with Ale Honey Mustard and Beer Cheese AND the Bourbon Glazed Steak Tips! Both were fantastic and the bar woman Ariel was wonderful too! Bartenders like her are a rare breed! Left with a full belly and a smile on my face.

We just moved to Jackson and wanted to go somewhere nice for dinner. Found this place down the road and we ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! The vibes were immaculate. The staff was awesome. And the food was to die for. The ribs fell off the bone and the steak tips were delicious! Definitely recommend.

Heard that SHP was an amazing restaurant from my wife’s coworker and we were up in the area for vacation. We ordered a couple drinks, the Smores Martini was phenomenal, and the Ridgeback IPA was deliciously crushable. As for an app we went with the fried pickles, the dipping sauce was buffalo ranch I think and we could have cleaned that dish out. For meals we ordered the burnt ends Mac and cheese (10/10) and the Chicken Pomona was soooo good!!
Our waitress, Lily, was very friendly and was always there to answer any questions, refill our waters and be there if we needed anything. We were her only customers in her area so she let gave us the tv remote to change the channel to the Football game we were looking for. Great service and amazing food. When we’re in Jackson again we will be sure to come back!!

Was there last night for NYE & was told we would be seated next. The hostess finally came down after almost an hour & said we cab seat ourselves. They were not seating anyone anymore. Was told the cook left & there would be no more food. Not even the little bites they claimed they would have. Just cold tasteless pizza for $5.00. They ran out off hats & noise makers. Was extremely disappointed.

In the week we spent in Jackson this is only place we returned to twice. We loved the atmosphere. Both evenings enjoyed the entertainer Candie Tremblay. The drinks were delicious, the food fantastic and both evenings our server was very personable. We highly recommend!

Was eating and drinking at bar, paid bill was 125 gave bartender 200 ,waited 20 minutes, she keep walking by, had to ask for my change, gave her a 25 dollar tip. Then was asked to leave the bar seats, and sit somewhere else, so she could make more money from someone else. Then was shut off because not enough tip for her. Never return there again. The room was nice it was our 3rd stay,but will never return to Witney Inn again.
