OK, so this location in Black Diamond just opened last month. We’ve been twice for take out. Both times ribs, which were the BOMB! So good! But, the problem has been… both times our orders were incomplete or incorrect. First time my husband just ordered 1 plate of ribs with a side of pork and beans and cornbread. He got home to discover that it was chili instead of pork and beans and the cornbread was completely missing. The next week I went in and ordered 2 rib meals complete with sides. When I was handed the bag I just walked out to the car. I decided to check the items and there was only 2 containers of ribs and the cornbread. No bbq sauce and NO sides! I went back in and they gave me the pork and beans (which really were AWESOME – the best!), potato salad and various sauces. I don’t know if you specifically have to ask for sauce here, but if ordering take out, I’d double check before leaving that all your items are inside. I believe the problem was with the gal working the till not paying attention. Overall, the food we’ve had so far is fantastic, not too sure about the service.

Disappointed to learn that “breakfast served until 2pm” really means 1:20pm. But my wife and I like BBQ, so we opted for lunch. I have one word to describe the food; greasy. Fries weren’t crisp. They’re soggy thanks to the grease. I had two bites before throwing in the flag. My wife had more, much to her immediate chagrin upon arriving home. And the prices are ridiculous! Save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere.

After enjoying the previous restaurant at this location for a long time, we decided to try Shorty’s for dinner this week. There were five adults in our party. The restaurant is attractively decorated. There are two large tables in the restaurant. Both were occupied. There was no one else there, but rather than pushing two smaller tables together for us they took us to a back room that looks like a converted storage room with portable tables and chairs. We were shocked by the prices on the menu.
Two of us ordered pulled pork platters, one ordered a Squeeler, one ordered a pulled pork sandwich (it’s on the lunch menu but they still offered it), and one ordered a burger. The pulled pork on the ‘platters’ was pretty much tasteless except for the sauce. There was no smoke taste. It was greasy and lukewarm. One of us had fries and cold slaw, the other one had double mashed potatoes. The fries were greasy and soggy, almost inedible. The cold slaw was unlike any cold slaw I’ve seen, just big pieces of lettuce or cabbage with dressing (really just a rather tasteless salad). The mashed potatoes were cold. The Squeeler was mostly dry bread, largely inedible. The bottom half of the buns on the pulled pork sandwich and the burger were soggy.
When some in our party tried to order milkshakes for desert, they said that they had already taken down and cleaned the milkshake machine for the night.
Overall, the food was terrible and the service was so-so. The bill for five simple meals and soft drinks was almost $100 including a tip. We won’t go back.

OMFG this place was amazing. Everything was incredibly fresh. The pulled pork sandwich was as good as I ever had. My wife’s burger was huge and incredible tasting. Amazing fries. Definitely eat here if you’re in the area.

Okay, we came up to Federal Way for the NW Regioanl Swim Meet, and eating here was a huge bonus-meaning the food is BIG. Really. Our 10 yr old gotta burger over 6 inches high-not held together with a toothpick-but with a steak knife through the top… The BBQ sauce and the brisket was awesome. The BBQ chicken, so tender it fell off the bone. And the people here just plain rock!
