I can’t eat eggs so I’m always searching for the perfect breakfast items. Well I did not find it here. I ordered a vegetable omelette without eggs added, cabbage, spinach and gravy. This cost me over $25! Each item not in the original omelette was extra. And it was not tasty. Covered in a thick layer of white cheese with the cabbage slaw on top instead of cooked in. The grits were hot and served on the side. They were the best thing in the plate. I added some butter and enjoyed them. I also ordered the sourdough taste. It was served cold. I will say the gravy was very good. The slaw was also good but not on top of a veggie scramble. #allergygirl did not find a breakfast worth coming back for.

My friend and I stopped by to get some lunch around noon. Upon entering, we were seated immediately! I ordered the Philly cheesesteak, and my friend got the open-faced 1/2 lb burger. Considering how busy the place was, our food was done in a very timely manner, which was quite impressive! The food tasted good, and the portions were very generous as well!
Just an FYI, if you don’t like loud places, you might have to dine in your car. This place is very busy and it can be a bit difficult to have a conversation while dining! But that’s okay; that only means the place is good.
I will definitely come back again to try their breakfast foods.

HUGE PORTIONS!! You definitely get your money’s worth at this restaurant. The pancakes are plate sizes, so please plan to share. Beware, blueberries are not in the batter for blueberry pancakes. The club sandwiches are stacked with meat, cheese and fresh veggies. They also have really good fries! Our only complaint is that the waitress spilled some of my drink and expected us to clean it with extra napkins. We had to specifically ask for her to bring a wet cloth to clean the spill. Overall, I would absolutely return if I’m in the area!

This place is awesome. We stopped in on our way out of town at the crack of dawn and the service was great. Better was the food. Crazy good prices for the portion sizes. I got the Garbage plate and it was a huge amount of food, and they don’t skimp on the meat like most breakfast places. The atmosphere is cool, the servers are super nice, and couldn’t ask for any better on my plate. 10 out of 10 would recommend

We finally made it here. It was my birthday and I wanted to go somewhere different. I’m glad I picked here. Our waitress was Key (like the lock ❤️☺️) she was friendly, quick, and attentive. The food was delicious. I had the biscuit and gravy with sausage links. Suz had the French toast. Goodness that was good! I cannot wait to go back and I will add a new review when we try the sandwichs. I look forward to it. I had heard so many good things about Shorty’s and I’m glad I can add to that. All of the staff we dealt with were great ambassadors for this restaurant. See you again soon! Glad I’m a local lol

Our waitress was so bubbly and friendly! She was also a rare master in the art of making the perfect chocolate milk! Shorty himself even came out to talk to us! I like that you can pay a dollar for an add-on so I got the chocolate chip pancakes and added bananas! People are not joking about the portion sizes so I really should have only gotten one pancake, lol. The bacon and sausage links are great! My partner loved the gravy biscuits and the corned beef hash. They were very friendly about us bringing in our service dog, which is always a relief and makes for a pleasant occasion. (Khaleesi ate HER sausage link after we left and wanted me to communicate that she, too, leaves a five-star review!) To the man with the Don’t Stop Believing by Journey ringtone, thank you for also contributing to a perfect morning!!!

What a great and neat restaurant! The food tasted great, our waitress was nice, and the atmosphere takes you back to the mid-1900s. I had the hangover, which was corned beef hash, scrambled eggs, and biscuit and gravy. I ordered a side of hash browns as well. The food tasted great, and the coffee was good too.

Coming from the South I was a little skeptical of Virginia breakfast and flavor! Great service and food done well just needs some southern spice. Definitely going to be coming here again! Also Pancakes are huge!!!
