Shorty’s BBQ and More is an authentic barbecue restaurant in downtown Locust Grove, Georgia. Shorty’s is designed for you to take and enjoy your BBQ anywhere you like! We do have picnic tables if you choice to eat and enjoy your bbq at your own leisure. We do cater. We are open Fridays and Saturdays only. Like any good BBQ, we will be here until closing hour OR unless we sell out, then we leave. So come early!!

Yesterday my daughter and I were craving some good old southern BBQ, so we stopped by Shorty’s BBQ in Locust Grove. It’s a takeout-only spot, but the moment you pull up, that smoky aroma lets you know you’re in for something special!
We both ordered the special plate — I went with the rib tips and couldn’t even wait to take photos because they smelled so good I started eating right away. My plate came with collard greens, mac & cheese, and a warm peach cobbler for dessert. My daughter got the same plate but chose the slab of ribs, and those ribs were falling off the bone good!
We also grabbed the strawberry lemonade, which might be the best in town — you can truly taste the strawberries and the lemonade.
The food was flavorful and even though it’s takeout-only, the service and energy made it feel like home. If you’re near Locust Grove and want that real southern smoked BBQ taste done right, Shorty’s BBQ is a must-try!

phenomenal! I had the smoked chicken wings and collard greens, and both were packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. The wings had that perfect smoky taste with just the right amount of crisp, and the collard greens were seasoned just right – some of the best I’ve ever had. The atmosphere is welcoming, and you can tell they put a lot of care into the food. Definitely worth the stop

Great Southern BBQ joint. Off of Jackson Street in Locust Grove, Georgia.
Excellent fresh brisket, super good tangy barbecue and uniquely tasting spicy hickory sauce. Plus they got a bunch of really cool stuff like pulled pork nachos.

Customer service was A1, not very popular here in Ga so I was pleased. I ordered rib tips they were a bit chewy and there was not enough sauce (which comes separate) I’ll definitely come back for their customer service alone & give their food another try very welcoming environment, parking nice view while sitting in the sun they have fans and misters and umbrellas as well!

Absolutely loved this place and the people here! All the food was delicious! My favorite was the smoked sausage and my husband’s was the turkey. Mac and cheese was great and the Brunswick stew was probably the best I’ve had. It was delicious!
The service was wonderful as well, the gentleman (I’m assuming owned the place) was so kind, and so was the Landy at the counter.
Don’t forget to grab the homemade lemonade (amazing) and peach cobbler!!

This was my son and I first time visiting and we will definitely be back. We were given a taste of strawberry lemonade for being first Timers and it was delicious. The rib tips were good and so was the potato salad. As a chef who was too lazy to cook for my own family today we will definitely be returning.

The day after the wedding all of the family who had gathered in Locust Grove (from far and wide, CA, CO, SC, GA) stuck around for a family get together and we placed a small catering order. Got there as they was closing still was able to get anything on the menu It wasn’t very long? Before they came out with My rib tip combo within 10 minutes . It was a mixture of old meat mixed with some fresh cook meat you can tell the meat was old because it wasn’t very tender and there was a few pieces that Were I suggest that you don’t go near closing time? I’ll give them another try earlier in the day but never at closing again.
