When I arrived, I entered through the front door and went directly to the bar. There were three people behind the bar—an older gentleman (who I believe may be the owner) and two blonde female bartenders (one wearing jeans and a white T-shirt, and the other wearing jeans, an open-back tank top, and visible back tattoos).
I stood at the bar for approximately five minutes without any acknowledgment. During that time, I made eye contact, said “excuse me,” and waved to get attention, but received no response. I eventually walked to the opposite side of the bar near the opening used by staff to enter and exit, and within two minutes I was finally acknowledged.
I ordered a Moscow Mule with light ice, but the drink I received had no ice and was warm. I returned to request ice but did not receive assistance.
I arrived with a friend who also stood at the bar without acknowledgment. She was only served when I went back to the opening area to get someone’s attention. At one point, another customer—an older gentleman—felt compelled to give her one of his beers due to the lack of service. The male behind the bar remained engaged in conversation with another patron and never acknowledged her.
That said, I do want to highlight some positive aspects of the visit. The band sounded great and had an excellent choice of music. The atmosphere was loud, which I understand is expected for some bars, and it was clear there were many locals and regulars present. The patrons we interacted with were very friendly, and my friend ended up having a pleasant conversation and playing a game of bags with another couple, which was a good experience as well.
I understand the bar may have been busy, especially with the Bears game earlier and the band finishing their set. However, basic customer service—such as scanning the bar, acknowledging guests, or letting customers know you’ll be with them shortly—goes a long way. Ignoring customers who are clearly waiting creates a poor impression and discourages repeat visits.
I wanted to share this feedback in hopes it helps improve future customer experiences. Your establishment clearly has a strong local following and a great atmosphere, but improved service would make a significant difference.
Thank you for your time.
