Came here for a quick breakfast and was not disappointed. The biscuit was very soft and fell apart (in a good way) and the eggs and bacon were good as well. The hash rounds were also good, would have loved it if they had some sauces to dip them in besides ketchup, which they might but maybe I just wanted aware. Definitely a better breakfast than a McDonald’s or other fast food joints.

Omg go and get you a biscuit there . I got the gravy biscuit and tried the bread first, and it was so flaky and buttery and delicious . I got the cheese grits as a side, and they were so hot and tasty. I didn’t even know until today that they have breakfast there, and I am so pleasantly surprised. Definitely coming back!

Seriously! What is this?? This combo cost me over $12 and I paid EXTRA for bacon and I literally did not even get the equivalent to one whole strip of bacon.

My dad lives in Wilkesboro and has been in bad health for a while. I discovered this Restaurant on my way to his house one day and I stopped to see if they had Mountain Dew. They did! There’s just nothing like a good fountain Mountain Dew! They also have great burgers and amazing fries! This morning after staying at my dad’s for the night I was headed home and stopped to get a drink and a biscuit and ask if I could have fries instead of a regular breakfast side. The lady said she really wasn’t supposed to do it but she would this time. I didn’t want to get anybody in trouble but she said she would do it no problem. I appreciate her so much going above and beyond what might not seem like much but with everything going on with my dad right now their fountain Mountain Dew and their french fries are my comfort! I just wanted to give a shout out to the two ladies working this morning who were extremely kind when they could’ve just said no! Thank you again!!

I was a long time fan of Short Stops because you got your money’s worth of food. Came through today and apparently they have changed the menu and sizing. Placed my usual order for a large cheddar bites and I was informed that they only had one size. I noticed that the price had gone up but I was ok with it because I figured that they had gone to the large size (almost a full bag) as the standard size. When I got my food, I discovered that I had paid more but didn’t even get what would have been a small originally. I paid 5 and change for not even a handful of bites. Last time I go to Short Stops.

My boyfriend and I just went here for milkshakes. The young boy that took our order kept saying that they were out of everything we tried to order. For example bananas, strawberries, cookie dough, cheese cake, only enough strawberries for one milkshake so I ordered it. It looked like he just dumped ice cream in a cup and the strawberries looked like jello thrown on top after. Didnt even have the consistency of a milkshake. I wouldn’t recommend Shortstops for milkshakes.

I went thru the drive thru yesterday between 11:30 an 12:00. I ordered all american burger combo with fries and a pumpkin pie milkshake. The fries were crispy, not greasy and the milkshake was great too. Usually the wait is sometimes longer than usual, yesterday it went faster. I”m glad Daegan is a new gm. I wish you would bring back shana.

Dang… I’ve driven by this place plenty of times and finally stopped. So freaking glad I did. I like my burgers and these burgers are about as good as mine… haha. I’m telling ya right now, this place is good. Got the StortStop Combo and it was BANGING!! Will definitely be back from now on when I’m up this way monthly.

5/24/25 Update: YES! Hash rounds are back! Sausage biscuit still just as yummy!
Sausage biscuit is always yummy! Really missing the hash rounds they had previously though…still hopeful they bring those back and the homemade chips.

My husband and I get supper from here a lot and it’s delicious! Fries are almost always fresh and the burgers are so good. The only thing I noticed is sometimes they’ll make a burger wrong (put tomato on when you ask for no tomato) but other than that service is usually always fantastic and food is great! We tried breakfast from here this morning and it is so good! We got a lot of food for a really great price! The biscuits are absolutely PERFECT! Hash rounds? Delicious! French toast sticks? To die for! 10/10 would recommend!
