Being in business for almost 56 years, Short Stop Poboys is a family owned and operated poorboy sandwich shop with over 30 selections of poboys. In addition to our best sellers, the debris roast beef poboy and the fried shrimp poboy, our chicken, sausage and andouille gumbo and seafood gumbo receive high acclaim. We also have many side items and offer a soup of the day. While we serve many blue and white collar workers, we are very family oriented. We offer dine in, take out, phone orders with a drive up pickup window or pick up inside. Delivery is also available thru Uber Eats. Not your gourmet poorboy shop, just great New Orleans poorboys served quickly and courteously at very reasonable prices. Catering items available.

The food was great. I ordered a roast beef po’boy (on a Friday I’m sorry). The service and flow was odd and chaotic. No one seemed to know what or where to order and who was getting what food. At checkout, the cashier took 2 phone orders while we were standing to check out.

Roast beef is where it’s at! Got mine dress with mayonnaise, lettuce, and tomato. Roast beef is shredded and tender. Has a nice seasoning flavor to it. I got the regular 9”, they have a 14” available also. They also had the famous lemon Hubigs pie at the counter! Drinks are canned or bottles. Soda and water.

It’s just a little outdated for the customers, meaning better seating options and parking are a concern. Really think this place misses out on clientele because of this, I mean the food is awesome and the workers excellent. Just a thought! With my new job assignment, I will be there often.
