This restaurant was in our hotel and for our last night in town we thought we would eat here. My daughter got a burger and it was good. My other daughter got a buffalo chicken pizza and it had a bizarre “grill” flavor like it was cooked on a dirty grill or had some sort of liquid smoke applied to the chicken. It didn’t taste natural. My husband got the seafood pasta and he said it was decent enough. The oddest part and reason for my low score is the salad dressings. I got a Cobb salad with steak. They had 4 “vinaigrette” dressings on the menu. 2 of them were “Dijon vinaigrette” and “maple walnut vinaigrette”. I ordered the Dijon one first and when it came out you can clearly see from the picture that it is not a vinaigrette. When I said something she said “oh no, it’s not a vinaigrette, it’s a Dijon dressing”. The menu literally said “Dijon vinaigrette”. If it supposed to be a dressing, then it’s not that either, as you can see. Ok that’s fine, no worries. So I decided to try the maple walnut one. You can see from the picture that it looks more like rendered fat or a gravy than a vinaigrette. I guess it just really bothers me that a restaurant doesn’t understand what the definition of a vinaigrette is, nor the server. Just bizarre. The atmosphere was nice though. I guess if you don’t mind “just ok” food and gravy for a salad dressing than you would like this place.

Where do I begin. We were a party of 8, 10 including the 2 babies. Presidents day around 4pm. Place was empty. Our server “Bella” did not seem excited to have customers. We weren’t met with “Welcome to the shore! I’m Bella, Glad to have you” we were met with “ugh” it felt. She had absolutely 0 interest that we were there. We were split into 2 checks but that seemed difficult for her to handle. My family of 5, Enjoyed the Truffle Fries and Fried Pickles, thus the 3 stars for food. But the rest was just par. My wife and oldest had the Shrimp and Grits, I had the shrimp penne alla vodka, and my son had the Italian Pizza. I get this is a upper scale place, but $18 for that small pizza is absurd. Our food bill should total $135, with the 2 appetizers. My wife and I both had 1 alcoholic beverage. Apparently which adds another $40 onto our tab as when the check came, I was met with $215.90 (obviously with 20% gratuity automatically included). If the restaurant would like to look into this, check 1926 on Feb 16 2026. I didn’t even bother at that point to ask because I already wasn’t satisfied. My oldest and I both had shrimp with left shells on it, thank god my wife’s was fine as she wouldn’t have touched it after that. At the end of it, $215 for what I felt was a $150 dinner including tip is above par, and under delivered. IF the food was ABSOLUTELY incredible, I’d be more than fine with more than $215, as we’re not afraid to spend good money on good food/service. Overall, the service was sub par, the food was par, the price is overpriced. We will not be returning.

We spend a couple of weeks on Jekyll every January and have been to many restaurants on the island. This year we tried the Shore restaurant in the Marriott and were very pleasantly surprised. We liked it so much we went back another night. The food was probably the best two dinners we had on the island. Especially the shrimp and grits. The two servers we had were both just delightful. They made good suggestions and were very attentive.

The bartender was also spot on. The best Martini ever!

As this is a small restaurant in a hotel, I think many people don’t see it as a really good place to try, that would be their loss, so next time you are in Jekyll, give it a go, you wont be disappointed.

Both of the beat and arugula challenge were very good, I thought the full size could have been improved upon it was pretty small but the salad was very good. My wife had the beef tips with noodles she said it was very good. I had the curry with basmati rice it was very good it was spiced perfectly it was a little rich for my liking but it was very good.

Here for a great Valentine’s Day weekend get away and this was the worst experience I’ve ever had at a Marriott restaurant. I understand being busy for a holiday weekend; the place was not busy. The pizza I ordered came out a pile of raw dough. When offered to replace it we chose chicken tenders. However when we asked if fried in the same oil as fish, the waitress was rude and we were informed that they fry everything in the same oil. The waitress never came back to check on us unless bringing food. Never got refills until we asked for them. Definitely do not recommend.

We came here for the Thanksgiving day buffet and it was very good. If you are ever on Jekyll Island for Thanksgiving I would recommend giving this a try.

Thank you Kendall and Olivia! They were ours servers for the weekend and they were more than attentive! We had some menu changes and accommodations they were more than happy to make and the food came out just right and delicious. It’s a great casual eat, relaxed type of place, for lunch a quick bite or casual dinner. They were quick to seat us and checked in on us just the right amount of time! Olivia remembered our order and Kendall made us really feel cared for during our stay!
The grounds are maintained well and the environment is very relaxing!

Disapppinting waste of time. Old lady bartender totally ignored customers. Time to find a new bartender. Do not recommend this place whose specialty is frozen pizza.

Really great place. We stayed next door at the Hampton and came over to check things out. The Nashville hot chicken was really good. Surprisingly the collards were too. Many places cant do collards right but this place does. Wife got the blackened redfish and it was great as well. Little boy got the cheese pizza and it tasted a little freezerish but he didnt complain. Service was great. They had corn hole and other games. Good trip. I recommend.

My wife and I have stayed at the Marriott Residence Inn 6 times. Before this recent stay we would never eat dinner at the Shore restaurant because the quality of the food was not to our liking. Well all of that has changed now that they have a new Executive Chef. Chef Clay has turned things around. His new menu is filled with dishes that have plenty of flavors. So good that we ate dinner here twice in 5 days. We have tried the Fried Chicken, Vegetable Curry with Blackened Chicken, Short Rib Pasta and the Burger. The portions are large and the quality and flavors are spot on. I would highly recommend trying this restaurant for dinner now that Chef Clay is leading the team. They also have a happy hour Monday- Friday 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm. A different drink special every day along with 5 appetizer specials. We tried Chef Clay’s take on Fried Green Tomatoes. So good we ordered them again the next day.
