I can’t believe I’ve been sleeping on Shoots for so long ‍ What a fantastic meal. Everything is served sharing-style, and the portions are BIG!! I’m still dreaming about the crispy wontons with sweet and sour dip absolutely obsessed. Ling was so kind and constantly on the move, staying very busy while still being incredibly attentive to us. Overall, 10/10.

If I were allowed to bend the rules and award six stars out of five, Panda Express would receive them without hesitation or irony. With that unapologetic benchmark in mind, trying this restaurant felt like a calculated risk—one that ultimately paid off, even if not flawlessly.

My own order, the honey walnut chicken (or something in that general neighborhood), was serviceable but unremarkable, lacking the depth and balance I had hoped for. That said, my date’s sesame chicken told a very different story: flavorful, well-prepared, and genuinely enjoyable, to the point where I found myself wishing I had ordered it instead. The contrast between the two dishes made it clear that while not every menu item shines equally, the kitchen is capable of delivering a satisfying experience.

What truly elevates this place, however, is its positioning. It offers the comfort and pacing of a sit-down restaurant without the inflated prices or pretense that often accompany that experience. For anyone looking to enjoy a relaxed meal, have a conversation that isn’t rushed, and still feel like they got solid value for their money, this spot is an easy recommendation.

This place has great Chinese food! I’ve been a few times now and have enjoyed it every time. They give you complimentary wonton chips with sweet and sour dipping sauce. They have reasonably priced lunch specials that come with a soup, an egg roll and either steamed or fried rice. My favorite is the sesame chicken. I have also tried the cashew chicken and the general Tso’s chicken and those are both good too.

First time going. I have a regular place down in Provo that I love and so I was hesitant about trying a new Chinese place but Shoots did not disappoint. The price is what you’d expect out of a restaurant in this location. We got the shrimp tempura appetizer (Japanese I know but it was pretty good) and it comes with various fried vegetables as well. I got the Black Pepper Steak dish that came out on a skillet. The flavor was fantastic. My wife got the Fried Tofu dish and the tofu was cooked wonderfully. We ended up getting the special tempura cheesecake for dessert and it was fantastic. Honestly I’d go back for only dessert that is how good it was. All in all I was impressed and will more than likely be back.

We took a chance after an event in the area and tried this new Chinese restaurant. We were not disappointed. It was amazingly wonderful food. Very tasty and we wanted to eat more, but we got so full we had to stop. We started off with some Potstickers (sorry, no pictures), and while the sauce was a little strong for me, the Potstickers were soft, tender, and something I could have eat for my entire meal. We then ordered noodles, fried rice, Tangerine Chicken and Beef and Broccoli. The noodles were covered in a little too much sauce and the friend rice was descent, but nothing over the top. But that is the only complaints! The Tangerine Chicken was super delicious and I have a new favorite there. The Beef and Broccoli was super tender and the vegetables made the entre complete. The food was super delicious and so scrumptious that we are going to go back, hopefully very, very, soon. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the staff was helpful and super nice. Awesome place.

Very frustrated with my experience at Shoots. Have been to the restaurant 3 times now. Really enjoy the food and appreciate the gluten free options. We’ve ordered takeaway once before, and were disappointed with the portions as they were significantly smaller than the in person portions even with the same price entrees. Was at the Riverwoods today and decided to give their takeaway another try. The restaurant was mostly empty so I made a point to order an extra (and extra expensive) dish to try to help a local business. When the order came out, checked the boxes to make sure everything was there and commented to the waitress that the “side of broccoli” with the firecracker chicken looked like literally one piece of broccoli that had been cut into 3 pieces to look like more. She tried to explain away that it was supposed to just be garnish when the menu says specifically the dish comes with a side of broccoli. Then double checked that the rice was for the 2 dishes we’d ordered that were supposed to come with rice and she said yes even though the portion looked barely enough for 2 people. So I asked for extra lettuce thinking that my more expensive order and generous tip would be sufficient to be able to spare some extra iceberg lettuce and she checked with the kitchen and then told me I’d have to pay extra if I wanted any. Good thing I didn’t get any extra lettuce anyway because the portions for the $10 chicken lettuce wraps were only enough for about 3 wraps. It seems absurd that a $50 meal made of 3 entrees would not be enough portion wise to feed 2 average adults and one 2 year old. If you’re wondering, the $18 honey walnut shrimp is no exemption to the tiny portions. Good food, would love to see this local business thrive and also treat their customers better, with a more generous mindset. Probably will not be coming back.

Food was good but not amazing. Service was polite but slow. It took 5 to 10 minutes to get boxes after asking for them. Servings are pretty big.

Shoots in Orem is hands down one of the best! The food is incredible, the potstickers are a must-try. You can share family-style or get your own, and the staff is so friendly and helpful. Reservations are super easy to make, which makes planning birthdays or special nights out a breeze. We love coming here for birthdays, it’s always such a fun and delicious experience.
