Great ambience and setting in what is otherwise a very busy area. Has a good variety of meat options for the hot pot and is easy to order. The servers are polite and respectful and the place is clean.

The taste per se could be slightly better though of the meat options. I rate it four star only because there are better hot pot options out there but again you would have a good experience here too.

Lovely aesthetically decorated spot for authentic hot pot! We were seated right away, the booths are somewhat private and have nice tall partitions. The waiters were mostly hands-off which is fine, we just ordered via the tablet but they often walked by so it felt like they were available should we need them. Don’t forget to assemble your own dipping sauce at the sauce bar while you wait for the food to come out. Extremely generous portions, we ended up ordering way too much lol but everything was delicious! Spent about $50 for two people. Highly recommend their tomato based broth or the mushroom one. We keep talking about “next time”!

The food was really delicious and it had a cute atmosphere , it was our first time experiencing hot pot and we didn’t know how to order. One of the kitchen workers helped us out on ordering. I definitely recommend this restaurant to family members and friends who go to Chicago to go eat there.

First time ever dining at this type of restaurant. My husband and I really enjoyed the food and service. It was a little overwhelming to gobin blind without knowing what to do. But the staff was kind and answered all of our questions.

We ordered to brother. One spicy and one mild. I usually like spicy food, but had to take a break. The spicy was spicy!

For meats we orded wages, garlic chicken, and shrimp. We ordered broccoli and noodles as well.

Very tasty meal and great date night idea.

I had their Sichuan-style hot pot and it was an excellent experience. The divided pot allows you to enjoy two distinct broths: the classic red mala broth with Sichuan peppercorns that create that signature numbing sensation, and a lighter, clear broth with a clean, deep flavor, likely bone-based and enhanced with red dates for natural sweetness.

This reflects the true character of Sichuan cuisine, known for balancing heat and aroma rather than just spiciness alone. The mala broth had depth and complexity, not just chili heat. The sauce bar and overall setup made the experience feel authentic and thoughtfully executed.

Highly recommended for anyone looking to explore regional Chinese cuisine beyond the typical Americanized versions.

I lived in Chongqing, China for several years in my twenties (specifically in the Shapingba district). I ate hot pot *constantly*- it was my favorite thing to eat bar none over there. I learned all about about the “numbing spicy” (麻辣) flavor profile, what makes a good broth + oil (shoutout to 老火锅), the best things to eat and how to really do it like a local. I ate hot pot many times in the exact neighborhood (小龙坎) after which this restaurant is named.

As a result, you can imagine my standards are pretty astronomical.

Happily, I can say this with confidence: if you’re looking for an authentic Sichuan hot pot experience, look no further- this place is the real deal. When I walked in, it *smelled* like China. It was like that moment in the movie Ratatouille where the food critic is transported back to his childhood, except for me I was transported back to late nights around a boiling pot with my friends, drinking 白酒 (baijiu, Chinese grain liquor) and chowing down on the feast before me. All the options on the menu were things you’d find in any respectable hot pot joint in Chongqing, and I was even kind of delighted that the waiter asked me and my friends “Are you sure you want the spiciest broth?”- that’s how you know a place like this is legit. (Fair warning, the spiciest broth is indeed *very* spicy- that’s the authentic Sichuan way, so if you’re not able to tolerate that kinda thing, try a less spicy version or a split pot so you have the option for a non-spicy broth.)

There’s other good hot pot places in Chicago to be sure, but if you want the place that’s as close to the real thing as you’re going to get, this is the spot. Definitely my number one spot from now on.

(PS- if you want a great appetizer while you wait for the pot to boil, try the 酥肉 (crisp pork). God, I love this stuff. My friends and I used to get a bag to share from a street stall while waiting for a table at our favorite hot pot joint in Shapingba and it’s just fantastic. Crunchy, deep fried pork with a little bit of a hint of that numbing spicy flavor- it’s great.)

Awesome cozy atmosphere that can accommodate larger parties. Great selection of items to order as well as a variety of tasty broths! The broths are legit. Example, the pork broth has a giant pork bone in it to keep that flavor going as you cook! Also they have a nice selection of Japanese A5 wagyu. Everything was super fresh and the staff is very friendly and efficient. Will definitely be back with more people so I can try more items! Homemade noodles are a must.

This place is amazing! It was our first time there and it was PACKED. We waited about 50 min. They sent us a text while we shopped around the area. When we came back they had already given up the table but the woman at the front was very accommodating and ended up seating us next and got us a table. It was well worth the wait. All the food was fresh and delicious. We had the mixed mushroom and chicken broth with the vegetable platter, udon noodles and premium lamb. We also got a Thai iced tea. They had complementary sauces, chives, garlic, nuts, and pickled sides (pork, chicken feet, and kimchi), and fruit (honeydew and pineapple) that you could get as much as you wanted! We left completely full and will DEFINITELY be back.

Sorry, no pix, but this was a taste of nostalgia! I grew up in Taiwan and haven’t had such great hot pot in years.

Also, they were efficient: It was easy to order and easy to see what I had ordered to tally where we were in our bill.

Delicious!
