My husband and I tried Shoney’s because we saw the sign with the buffet. We went inside and no body was in there so we were immediately greeted which was nice. They invited us to check out the buffet and it look like it had been sitting a while and nothing interested us so my husband said he just wanted a burger so they sat us. The waiter was super nice and attentive, very quick to refill my husbands drink and bring condiments. It was strange at first because we were the only guest there around 6pm. By the time we got our food more people started coming in so it started to feel and sound like a restaurant again. I got the chicken fried steak and my husband got a bacon cheese burger. The portions were pretty small compared to other places but our food came hot so not complaints. Every thing went great but we probably won’t be back just because Shoney’s wasn’t our style.

When you first walk in the place it kind of feels like a Perkins (older diner ambiance). But for how musty a Perkins feels, Shoney’s is worse. The place is dark and filthy. We were given a menu but opted for the breakfast buffet. The food was very reminiscent of what you get in a military dining facility. All the basics: eggs, potatoes, bacon, ham, sausage, french toast and pancakes. All edible but none enjoyable. The service was good and overall pretty cheap.

I went to shoneys on Sunday. Got there before the church crowd( that’s very important) got to say..I love how they have their setup. Yes, a server does get your food for you and the staff is always nice. What I love, there was bacon when I got to the front. Usually, bacon monsters attack that tray and you have to wait because there’s no more bacon. And the line goes faster. Go try them out. Not many shoneys left.

It’s nothing to write home about.. but my visit wasn’t bad.. bacon was a little overcooked. Eggs good. Sausage hit and miss. Lesley was a top notch server! Cost has gone up to $11 each.

I got tricked into coming here as a joke from some coworkers, who I later found out were taking revenge for my past practical joke. They certainly got me. We had the buffet. I’m not sure why people would voluntarily come here. I plan to buy gift cards, however, for the next white elephant exchange. The staff was nice though.

Food was bland, service was slow and then my wife orders a skillet cookie that was nothing but dough. Not satisfied at all not to mention the table beside us stayed filthy and with food all over the floor the whole time we ate.
