Ashley was a great server. She was very friendly. I can really appreciate the updated and modern atmosphere. It has been almost 10 years since a visit to Shoney’s. The bar was a nice surprise. The omelet was good.

I went out to dinner here, and it was quite possibly the worst restaurant experience I’ve ever had. The food wasn’t just bad, it was a legitimate health hazard.

Everything on the buffet was so old that it was hard enough to chip your teeth. Even the okra, which I didn’t even know was possible. We tried to order entrees instead, but they had no hamburger meat, no rice, no gravy, no ice cream, etc. We finally did get some food ordered, but what we received was missing side items and sauces that they failed to mention they also didn’t have. The worst part is that what little food we did received was undercooked and spoiled. How can you serve “steamed broccoli” that’s not just cold, but has turned black?? I feel sick to my stomach, and have reported this location to the Alabama Department of Public Health.

I’m thankful that the wait staff was kind and apologetic, but management was extremely antagonistic. She refused to believe our concerns about the food, even when it was sitting on the table half rotten. As a Canadian this is my first experience with Shoney’s, and even though I’ve heard great things about it, it will unfortunately be my last. I didn’t even get to try the famous fudge cake 🙁

A hidden gem! I had never been to Shoney’s before, but I was pleasantly surprised! We came in for seafood and loved it!

The service was fantastic! I didn’t catch the name of our waiter, but he made sure our drinks were always filled and that we enjoyed our stay.

The head chef was on point, ensuring everything was fresh even on a slow night. Everything tasted fantastic! I highly recommend the salmon; it was savory and sweet! The rice was perfectly cooked, too. My boyfriend loved the crawfish and the fresh fried catfish.

If you’re ever in the area, I highly recommend dining in. You won’t regret it! ✨

Was excited about the reopening as we loved coming here before. The food buffet was not as robust as before, though still tasty. An order of blackened salmon and rice missed the mark. The rice was overcooked, and the salmon under cooked. The waitress wasn’t very attentive either. Maybe it was just an off night, so we’ll try it again just to see. Fingers crossed!!

Beautiful place to come eat, Chef Marcus is a very helpful Chef. When they were busy, him and other staff came out to help speed the process. Rare these days. Kemi was a nice waitress, with a beautiful smile. Nice job Shoneys!!!

This is literally the worst place I have been a while. The food actually taste great, but the staff was non existent, there was children running around the bar, tables, guests.. not clean.. the plates to get food from the buffet had stuff on them. The older lady that was rolling napkins was polite and tried to help, called for help for us to pay but was blatantly ignored three times, no one, absolutely NO ONE was pleasant, nice, or welcoming. I’m surprised this place is still open.

Service was good. Food was pretty good. The batter for the shrimp and onion rings were a little bland. But cocktail sauce and ketchup helped with that. Hot Fudge Cake was good. Meat selection on bar was very limited. Over all, pretty good experience.

Classic Shoney’s breakfast bar was really good, I just didn’t like that the soup and gravy was water down a little too much. But other than that great time, good food, service was excellent and on top of that the new restaurant looks exceptional and clean inside.

It’s a nice chill atmosphere, the food seems a little old but it wasn’t bad, definitely was expecting a bigger buffet with more food choices but that’s ok, the place is just ok

Nice restaurant to enjoy breakfast with the family. Just be prepared for a 15-20 min wait. The building isn’t as big as the traditional Shoney’s which would explain the long wait time. Other than than that, the staff is friendly & the food is tasty. My only complaint is the buffet is small.
