The beef egg udon was super flavorful, and the onsen egg was perfect– soft, silky and blended beautifully with the broth.
The pork cutlet set was real crunchy, even for delivery, and the Japanese pickles were a nice touch, I love pickled things, though the pork cutlet portion was a bit small. I was sad there was only 4 pieces. The set came with a miso soup and a cabbage salad, that dressing was to die for!
Its very hard to satisfy me with agedashi tofu, no one seems to get it right, but they did! It was on point, crispy outside, soft inside, minced radish, and the sauce had that deep umami flavor.
The chicken katsu curry was a standout– big portion, 8 pieces! Cripsy katsu and the curry was delicious!
However, your signature tonkotsu udon is an absolute disaster.
The way you’ve “modified” this udon doesn’t appeal to Asians or Japanese customers, nor does it appeal to American or Western customers. The broth is far too thick, too salty, and oddly sour.
I strongly suggest using a diluted, lighter tonkotsu broth, keeping it clean and refreshing — no sugar and no sour flavors. In its current form, this tonkotsu udon is a complete failure.
You should really invite some Asian or Japanese customers to do a tasting and give you honest feedback. The tonkotsu udon featured on the posters hanging on your wall is, frankly, extremely bad.
I did order the dressing on the side for the cabbage. Unlimited cabbage and rice refills.
I order the “HIRE (he-reh) katsu style as it’s less fatty meat cut.
I ordered the Thick-Cut Pork Loin Set, while my friend went with the Chicken Katsu Set. The server who greeted us was polite and professional, setting a great tone for our dining experience.
Our meals arrived in about 15 minutes, and I was immediately impressed by the presentation. The plating was meticulous — you could tell the chef takes real pride in their work. One piece of the pork katsu was propped up to showcase its thickness, and the golden-brown color was beautiful. It looked perfectly cooked, and as it turned out, it was.
Despite the thick cut, the pork loin was incredibly juicy — tender on the inside with a light, crispy coating on the outside. The balance of texture and flavor was spot-on, making it truly satisfying. The set came with a bowl of steamed rice, miso soup, edamame, pickled radish, and a refreshing cabbage salad finely sliced. Every component was thoughtfully prepared and served piping hot.
As for the pork loin — it was absolutely delicious. Honestly, one of the best Tonkatsu dishes I’ve ever had. And I’ve tried quite a few over the years. I also sampled my friend’s chicken katsu, and it was just as flavorful and well-executed.
Portion sizes were generous, and the restaurant even offered free refills on rice and cabbage salad — something I’ve rarely, if ever, seen at a non-buffet Japanese restaurant.
If you’re a fan of katsu dishes or pork loin in general, I highly recommend checking this place out. You won’t regret it.
I ordered pork tenderloin katsu on the side, and that was really good— well-seasoned and cooked perfectly. However, the katsu sauce didn’t really stand out.
Service was great, and our server was very accommodating.
I wanted to give this place another try, so a couple of days later, I ordered katsudon for delivery. Unfortunately, it was salty and the flavor was off. The miso soup, on the other hand, was good. Overall, I’m not sure if I’ll come back.

**The Ebi Shrimp Fry Set: A Masterclass in Contrast**
The Ebi Shrimp Fry Set is the heart of the dining experience at Shogun Tonkatsu & Curry. It features three impressive extra-jumbo prawns coated in a light, airy layer of panko breadcrumbs. The prawns are fried to perfection, boasting a shatteringly crisp shell that yields effortlessly to reveal the tender, juicy nectar. Each bite is a testament to the meticulous temperature control and skilled frying, allowing the natural sweetness of the prawn to shine unimpeded by excessive oil or heavy batter. The hand-shredded cabbage salad, lightly dressed with a tangy sesame vinaigrette, serves as a refreshing, crunchy counterpoint, cleansing the palate between indulgent bites of fried goodness.
**Miso Soup & Accompaniments**
The accompanying miso soup is served piping hot, its fragrant, umami-rich broth generously infused with delicate cubes of tofu and nutrient-rich wakame seaweed. This soothing warmth perfectly complements the crisp shrimp, enhancing the sensory experience. A generous bowl of flawlessly steamed Japanese short-grain rice serves as a canvas for the meal, its subtly sticky texture perfect for soaking up curry sauce or the rich juices from the dish. Finally, the vibrant assortment of Japanese pickles—including crisp takuan, zingy cucumber, and delicate radish—introduces bright, tangy notes that elevate the meal’s flavor profile, adding a delightful contrast to the richer elements of the dish.
