I am a sucker when it comes to teppan and I like Benihana. I was told the Shogun has a similar vibe and so I went to this one to check it out. The food was not bad, the service was great, and atmosphere was similar to Benihana…the show, however, needs to be better, like much better…because it was pitiful, at best. I am not there for the show as this is a food review, but the show is part of the charm of Shogun. I am already being generous here by giving this a 4 stars. OMG – they really need to work on their cooking shows – seriously lacking here.

I called and got reservations. Visited today on a Thursday evening at 630pm to be exact. Party of 4. Our server was a nice lady who’s name I didn’t get. Our cook was Brendan. He said he had a long day but was still nice, attentive and put on a show. The place was busy for Thursday. Spent a total of $200.

Very good food & prices! The interior of the restaurant is also very elegant. The quality of the ingredients/preparation of the food are really good.

I wanted to leave a review for Omar. I just wanted say that Omar wasn’t even our chef. However, he gave an amazing show. Tonight is Valentines Day and we were right next to him and were watching his show the whole time! I would love to go in at a later time and personally give him a tip! He was amazing. I Will definitely ask for him next time!

Went there for mu sons birthday, specified on our reservation. It was first time habachi dinning for his gf so we thought it would be so fun and a great experience for her.
Well…. Our server had a horrible attitude not one smile just bad attitude all together. Throughly the duration of our meal, ordered a drink and got it 20min later after we had to remind or get someone else to check on the drink, then came the cook, his attitude too was very blah no eye contact with us, over cooked some of our stuff, thr cook behind us has great atmosphere music that we enjoyed. When he finished our cook put music on and if I tell you it gave us a headache is an understatement it was that hard metal music. Horrible service altogether good over cooked and dealt with bad attitudes. Asked the server about the birthday and they had an attitude about it, rudely dropped a piece of desert with a candle that she didn’t even light Infront of my son as if it was an inconvenience. I’ve called to complain to a manager all week and ive been getting they are not available right now, I’ve left my number and nothing. Just sux that I paid over $400
For 7 of us to what was suppose to be a break experience to not so much. Very disappointed

We had an incredible night at Shogun! From the moment we walked in, the energy was great. Our chef was a total pro—not only was the ‘onion volcano’ and egg-flipping impressive, but the food actually backed up the performance. The Filet Mignon was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the fried rice is a must-have. It’s the perfect spot for birthdays or a fun night out with friends. We’ll definitely be back!

I’m writing this review because what happened to me at the Shogun in Temecula was deeply upsetting and completely unacceptable.

I dined here on Saturday with three other people. We are frequent customers and have eaten and ordered from this location many times. On this visit, I paid my bill in full by credit card and left the restaurant with my group.

Once I was fully outside the restaurant, a server named Jackie, who was not our server and was assigned to a completely different table, ran after me and publicly accused me of not paying. There was no attempt to verify anything internally, no checking of the POS system, and no discussion with our actual server before confronting me. The accusation was made loudly and publicly, which was humiliating and shocking—especially since I had done nothing wrong.

When we immediately went back inside to address this with the manager on duty, Ali, we were told she had “just clocked in” and that she “didn’t know what to tell us.” There was no investigation, no apology, and no effort to correct the situation. We were essentially dismissed after being falsely accused.

The accusation was completely false. I paid. There were witnesses. This could have been resolved in seconds by simply checking their system, but instead I was chased outside and treated like I had committed a crime.

As a Black woman, being falsely accused of theft in public—without verification—hits differently. Whether intentional or not, the lack of care, professionalism, and accountability in this situation was alarming.

Mistakes happen. But how a business handles them matters. Chasing a customer outside, accusing them without proof, and then failing to address it afterward is not acceptable. I hope management takes this seriously and reevaluates training and protocols so this doesn’t happen to someone else.

Until then, I cannot recommend this location.
