I was here for a friend‘s birthday and all I have to say was definitely had a really good experience our cook Jaun is an amazing cook. Made us felt welcome cooked delicious meals cracked lots of jokes great family, friendly experience. I will be coming back here in the near future with my friends and family 10 out of 10.

This place is definitely great if you want the Hibachi Cooking experience. They have great chefs, it’s family-friendly, offers plenty of seating, a good menu, and overall great service.
However, if you’re only looking for sushi or cocktails, the offerings are mediocre and a bit overpriced. The exception is during happy hour, when they offer some decent specials.

Yesterday, we have been in Shogun for the fourth time, but this was our last time. We were celebrating my husband’s birthday. I put it in comments when making the reservation and the cook also asked us if we were celebrating any special occassion. We shared with him it was my husband’s birthday. The food was tasty, but the service was terrible. The whole dinner was so rushed! We were in an out of there just under 60 minutes. When we were half way done with our food, but still eating, the server came by our table and rudly asked how many boxes we will need. When he came back with the boxes, he also gave us the final bill. No one asked my husbad or I if we would like another drink ( eventhough our beer glasses were nearly empty) , no one offered dessert etc. They wanted us out of there so quickly. It really ruined our night . Our kids and I were looking forward to a nice festive dinner for my husband and instead of that, we received this terrible treatment at Shogun. They used to do a little short ceremony for someone celebrating their birthday, they did not care a bit yesterday. We spent $300 for 2 adults and 3 kids and we will definitelly give our money to someone else next time. Very dissapointing.

A great restaurant for a little show with dinner. Prices are competitive to Benihana. Chefs are entertaining. Fried rice always! Half of us ordered the Wagyu this time with our shrimp. It’s a first for me at teppanyaki spot. As you’d imagine, it was very good. I didn’t bother with the ginger or yum yum sauce. They had a larger variety of veggies – bell pepper and potatoes are new. Dinner also included a small side of noodles. New additions to included offerings according to the chef. A pleasant surprise.
We had an early dinner reservation at 5pm and maybe 3 tables or so were taken. By the time we were done (maybe 6:30pm) the restaurant was full with a few parties waiting for a table.

I had my first experience here for work and it was quite wonderful. We arrived at 11:30am and our Chef was Bobby. All the food was brought out and cooked fresh in front of us. It was a party of 7 and Bobby was very mindful and let us know how he would beaming the food. I was impressed by how good it was. I never know what to expect when having hibachi. My food was made with care amd love (you can tell). Bobby interacted with us amd had a great personality. The menu was huge I may add, about 14 pages, which I was not expecting. Also the cocktail/bar menu phenomenal!! I’d definitely come back, oh, and for 7 people the price was to die for. Maybe it was because we all ordered from the lunch menu but WOW!

We came for a special treat for my twins 8th birthday. Every member of staff was so kind and chatted with the kids and made them feel special. There was even special birthday cake things at the end. But throughout the entire night our chef Josiah was patient and funny and made my kids laugh while making them food. Clarissa was also checking in and the manager Charm was very nice as well.
Was it the same classic jokes on repeat? Yes.
Did he say them with enthusiasm and delight in making the whole table smile. Also Yes!
The food was just what you expect. They are not breaking the mold here but when you have a Nice way of cooking steak. Why not stick with it?
Clean bathrooms and lots of free parking. Either the lot right out in front or immediately adjacent. Good AC and it looked like they had a good bar available. I was driving. Would absolutely go again

The service was excellent and very attentive. All rhe food was delicious and well executed. The night i went they had a great deal for a snake river farms rib eye steak and was exceptional. Will definitely come back here again.

First time here as a military family from Atlanta,Ga.We loved the food, show,customer service and atmosphere.The meat and veggies were seasoned well and they offer noodles with the dinner combinations now so you get rice, noodles a potatoes and broccoli plus the shrimp and regular Veggies.Juan was our cook I really didn’t even need the sauces bcuz he seasoned our veggies and meat well And as a Georgian we love our seasonings.My family and I were so happy to find good Asian food in San Diego and in San Marcos. This is gonna become a regular spot for us and we will definitely bring our friends and family when the come and visit us.And other military they do have a discount. The food is better than Benihanas and larger portions. And if you love Lobster tails get the Shogun Special it’s worth the price.

If you are looking for a date night or a family night dinner this is a great place. The hibachi experience is great for all the family. Much respect for the chefs for the fast service and the show they provide so everyone can have a laugh and great experience. Good food quality and great drinks. Prices are good for the type of food and experience. One thing is it does get a little loud so it wont be a place for alot of conversation at times.
