Here at Foodie Lyfe Tour, we’ve partnered with our local culinary scene to highlight all the good things about the Good Life City of Albany, GA, and Shogun Japanese Steak House is a must-try! This is one of our absolute favorite sushi spots. The California Roll and Volcano Roll are always my go-to choices, but their menu is full of delicious options.
On this visit, I branched out and tried a new roll (pictured in the video). It was a feast for the senses! Topped with what looked like imitation crab, a creamy, savory sauce, and a sprinkle of green onions, every bite was a burst of flavor. The rice was cooked to perfection, and the ingredients inside the roll were fresh and delicious. Before the sushi arrived, we enjoyed a comforting bowl of soup (also shown in the video) and the classic ginger salad – always a refreshing palate cleanser.
Beyond the fantastic food, the customer service at Shogun is consistently top-notch. The staff is friendly, attentive, and always makes us feel welcome. From the moment we walked in until we left, the entire dining experience was amazing. The restaurant itself has a warm and inviting atmosphere. As you can see from the video, it’s a popular spot, and rightfully so! If you’re looking for delicious sushi and excellent customer service in Albany, look no further than Shogun Japanese Steak House. You won’t be disappointed!”

Shogun is a great Asian restaurant in Albany with a lot of potential. The quality of the food and ingredients is excellent. The sushi, in particular, is fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared. Our waiter was very kind and attentive, which definitely added to the overall experience.
If I may offer two small suggestions: first, improving the cleanliness of the tables and floors would make the environment more pleasant. Second, consider refrigerating the soy sauce bottles left on the tables. If left out too long, they tend to ferment and lose their intended flavor.

I stopped by this sushi restaurant during a work trip. The service was prompt and the sushi was delicious. Very fresh and tasty. Albany Georgia, I would take you back to the buckeye State if I could. They appeared to be very accommodating as well for their customers. If you don’t like”raw” sushi rolls, they’ll fry it (ruin it) for you. I’ll be back for more!

Traveling for work and joined a bestie for dinner. Cute space and quick popular after 600pm – service was great. Our server recommended sushi rolls and they were awesome! We ordered seaweed salad, sushi taco, and the American Roll & Verizon Roll.

Wow, I am impressed. This was way better than what I expected, and the tuna avocado salad was superb! Huge bowl of super fresh tuna in ponzu with avocado and shaved cucumber

The Shogun Roll is my go to. Absolutely delicious and never disappointing. The bartender is one of the worst in the city. I’ve tried most drinks on the menu and they taste horrible. So do I dare ask for a specific drink of my liking? Stick to the bottle or coke products. The hibachi is good. Last time I went they apparently ran out of the noodles they usually use and had spaghetti noodles instead. I understand the reopening and difficult times so I didn’t stress it. But this place is pretty jam up when it comes to food. Service is a hit or miss. Oh and I added photos of the menu for this location because they are hard to find online. Hope they help.

Food was awesome but the gentleman that was my server was terrible. Anytime you have to ask another server to get you a refill and bring you your check then your server is not doing there job! Sushi was delicious tho! And no they was not busy at all!

Always a great place to visit and the food never disappoints. I love getting to go by and while sometimes they are busy, the servers are always friendly.
If you love sushi, it’s a great option, especially if you like a relaxed atmosphere where you can just enjoy your meal.

A great restaurant! Very kind and attentive waitress, clean and comfortable environment despite the small size, and the food was fresh and packed with flavor. Definitely recommend and a pleasant surprise so far from the coast! Only thing I would wish for is that they stock up on Temari (gluten free soy sauce) but there are good options even without it.
