We greatly enjoyed our first visit to this restaurant. Our meals were delicious and served expeditiously. I had the sea bass and mango salad. It was very flavorful and had just the right amount of heat. My husband enjoyed chicken stir fry.

Visited this restaurant for the 1st time yesterday . Staff are lovely and the food is amazing. We had the barbecue ribs chicken wings Thai prawn crackers chicken chow mein and king prawn with oyster sauce . Highly recommend this lovely restaurant and I will definitely visit again .

Here I experienced a completely different Thai restaurant. I used to live in Leeds and I loved the Thai food there, but it was very noisy and crowded, like street food.
Each dish here has an elaborate tray and the taste is very satisfying. The attitude and speed of the waiter were delightful. It’s worth having a relaxing party here on a weekend night.

It’s ok… for what we got I thought it was a bit on the dear side. For starters we got the sharing platter, some veg, some fishcakes and some deep fried goodness. While the deep fried things were tasty, they didn’t distinctly taste any better than some frozen ones you can get from a shop. The fishcakes and other meat based cake just tasted quite odd, I think it was slightly under seasoned that not even the sauces could hide. The sauces were really tasty, but after having the rest of the platter I couldn’t help but think they’d just come from a pre-packaged bottle.
For the mains, I was slightly miffed that I couldn’t try the Gimbap as that had run out?! (Even though isn’t it just rice and assorted toppings??). The massaman curry was definitely massaman curry, but really didn’t surprise me or exceed any expectations. The beef was incredibly overcooked, and required a lot of chewing. Just tasted exactly like every other one I’ve ever had. My friends dish was the king prawn honey chilli stir fry, which I never tried, but just looked like fish and veg in a bog standard sweet n sour sauce.
Never drank, and friend just had some jasmine tea, but for this, it all came to £33 a head and leaving still quite hungry. Also just on the service front, while the staff were friendly and helpful, they were quite inattentive as once we’d finished eating they didn’t come over and ask if we wanted dessert or a cup of tea. Instead we sat around for an hour (having a lovely conversation to be fair) until I went up to the counter to ask for the bill.
Overall the food was nothing to write home about, but it was all well cooked and nicely presented. The restaurant is in a nice area and does look quite nice inside, but does remind me a bit too much of an instagram backdrop. Thanks regardless.

Fantastic service, good portions and great ambience. Came here with a bigger party and had plenty of good recommendations for food. I had the special fried rice which came in a pineapple which was very entertaining! Loses a star because the Siu Mai was literally just a slab of chicken and pepper.

SUPERB! We were recommended to try this new restaurant and it surpassed our expectations. Fantastic Tom Ka soup and absolutely amazing vegetable tempura. The clay pot was new to us and we loved it. Fresh ingredients, super tasty and beautifully presented. Absolutely cracking addition to the Asian fusion offering in Glasgow. Great vegetarian and vegan options too. Highly recommend.

Best ever Thai Cuisine in Glasgow. Especially Tom Yam soup is all time favorite and is a MUST order soup.
The shop is very nice decorated and of course, Doreen the lady always with sweet and welcoming smiles to us.

I have been a regular customer at Shiso for nearly two years; however, my recent visit was, unfortunately, the most disappointing experience I have had there.
My husband had planned a Valentine’s Day dinner at the restaurant, and we had made a reservation in advance, which proved necessary as the venue was fully booked. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere felt unwelcoming, as the hostess—possibly the owner—appeared noticeably unfriendly.
While the food was generally better than the overall service experience, there were still issues. We ordered the sharing platter as a starter, which was excellent. For our main courses, we chose our usual dishes: Pad Thai, egg fried rice, and chow mein. Unfortunately, the chow mein was extremely oily and greasy—far more than it has ever been on our previous visits—which was disappointing.
During our meal, we also witnessed another guest approach the bar to place an additional order. The same staff member from the host desk spoke to her in a very rude manner, after which the guest chose not to order, paid her bill, and left.
When we requested our bill, we noticed that a service charge had been added. As I was dissatisfied with the service, I politely asked whether it could be removed. I was told that because it was Valentine’s Day, the charge could not be taken off. At that point, I felt extremely disappointed and chose not to argue further. I paid the bill and left.
Regrettably, after this experience, I do not intend to return to Shiso.

The “Asian Fusion” actually means “cooking Thai food in northern China style”, and they managed neither of the flavor. The prawn and rice noodles is poorly seasoned. Only basic flavor from soy sauce and coriander, which is bland. The pad kaphrao is cooked in kinda Hunan style, which is fine but definitely should never be called pad kaphrao—didn’t taste any fragrance from Thai basil, which suggested they just put minced pork with Thai spice without having their flavor blend together. Plus the minced pork is also just seasoned with soy sauce and possibly other basic spices, which is boring. The lamb shank in the massaman curry is overcooked, dry, and needs a lot of chewing. Overall, the chefs might be trying to be creative, but their approach to fusion is eliminating the good sides from both styles. Could be a good place if you just want to taste Asian food, but you deserve a better place if you are into a specific Asian cuisine. Great service though.
