The concept of cooking meat on skewers dates back to ancient times, with evidence found in various cultures around the world. The word “kabob” itself is believed to have originated from the Persian word “kabāb,” referring to grilled or roasted meat. Over time, different regions developed their own unique variations, incorporating local ingredients and flavors. From the Middle East to the Mediterranean, and even to Asia, shish kabobs have become a beloved dish enjoyed by people of all backgrounds.
What makes shish kabobs so appealing is their versatility and simplicity. The basic recipe involves marinating cubes of meat (such as lamb, beef, chicken, or pork) and threading them onto skewers with an assortment of vegetables like bell peppers, onions, tomatoes, and zucchini. The marinade tenderizes the meat and infuses it with flavor, while the vegetables add color, texture, and nutritional value. Shish kabobs can be grilled, baked, or even pan-fried, making them a convenient option for any occasion. Whether you’re hosting a backyard barbecue or simply looking for a quick and easy weeknight meal, shish kabobs are always a crowd-pleaser.
Speaking of the food, I must say everything we tried was exceptionally tasty! We both ordered their trio combo, which comes with a sandwich, side, pita bread, and a pop. We chose to upgrade the pop to smoothies with a slight upchrage. It’s totally worth it.
I had the beef gallaba sandwich paired with side of hummous. I loved both offerings! The sandwich was perfect with amazing flavors while the hummous was the right amount of creaminess. Such great flavors from both. As from my smoothie, I opted for the Honey Mooner, which was good but needed a touch more honey. Still, I enjoyed it.
My wife went with the chicken shish tawook and fattouch salad. She said it was one of the best tawook sandwiches she had ever had. For her smoothie, she chose Pina Colada and completely enjoyed it. All on all we enjoyed the food!
I definitely will recommend it and will be back soon.
Oh, and the baklava was really good. Grab some for dessert!
Edit: I have upgraded then from 4 star to 5 star!! They are amazing!!
