This place was highly recommended to me as a great spot for ramen. It’s a fast casual restaurant where you order at the counter and they hand you a number and bring you your food to the table when it’s ready. The line to order was wrapped through the restaurant and the place was not too big. We moved up to the front pretty fast though and the employee was bussing tables quickly to accommodate the people waiting to sit. The lady taking orders at the counter was very nice and helped explain what’s included in the ramen bowls and what options were available. We ended up ordering the red tonkotsu and the udon soup. We also decided to get a few sushi rolls to go with it. Food came fairly fast and looked so delicious. The red tonkotsu was creamy and spicy and had a good amount of flavor. The udon was good too but I liked the ramen more. I’m glad I finally tried the place and everyone that worked there was very kind accomodating when we needed containers and bags to take home when we couldn’t finish the food.

My friend recommended that we try this place so we went there for lunch. It was packed with a long line mostly because they only had one cashier, one person bringing out the food, and one person cleaning and clearing the tables. I was a bit surprised to see that. With the traffic amount, they definitely need more people to avoid the wait for the customers. I guess this is a good way to maintain profit. It took me 15 minutes to place my order. Wow, this place is not cheap. I ordered a BBQ eel over rice for $17 and a Udon Set for $16. The eel was very tasty but the sushi that came with the Udon was very simple not the best. The decor of the store is fresh and welcoming but seating was very tight due to the large crowd. Overall, it’s an interesting concept. I guess one thing that I liked was that you don’t have to clean the table after you’re done, but again they need more people for this small restaurant.

I recently tried Shiromaru, and overall, it was a decent experience. I came mainly for the ramen, which I thought was just okay. It wasn’t bad by any means, but it didn’t stand. The broth was a bit on the lighter side, and the flavor didn’t fully hit that rich, comforting depth I was hoping for.
What did surprise me, though, were the sushi and chicken teriyaki rice bowl, both were actually really good. The sushi tasted fresh and well-prepared, with clean presentation and good texture. The chicken teriyaki bowl was flavorful and nicely portioned, with tender chicken and just the right amount of sauce over the rice.
The atmosphere was casual and welcoming, and service was friendly and fairly quick. Overall, I’d say Shiromaru is a solid spot if you’re craving a mix of Japanese dishes, especially sushi or teriyaki. The ramen didn’t blow me away, but the other menu items made the visit worthwhile.

The ramen is great, sushi is also great! I usually get the chicken broth options for ramen because pork upsets my stomach. Add chili oil to my personal taste. The ramen is delicious and so filling but not overly. I’m able to finish the bowl as long as I don’t eat too many appetizers! I’ve tried many different sushi rolls and they have all been fantastic.

I decided to check out this place after a friend had raved. Overall I rate this place closer to 3.5 than an actual 4.
Food wise it’s a solid 4. We sampled several selections from Ramen, eel, to sushi. The fresh ingredients harmonized well, like skilled ensemble. Their sushi, while still using top shelf materials felt premade, yet on the higher end of grocery store level. Our son, who is sushi fanatic didn’t finish (which was odd). For reference, we’ve partroned & enjoyed Sushi throughout N.A., various Asian countries (including Japan); we’re seasoned.
I’ll say this is in my top 5 for the Detroit area. This is counter order, serve yourself drinks, & find your seat type place. While our server brought the warmest smile, holiday greetings, & great eats, the overall over-crowding, long lined queue, close quarter mall food court-esque atmosphere contributed to a lowered UX. I’ll try to give this another go after the holiday rush and see if my opinion changes. Regardless, I think you can’t go wrong with their offerings when you consider taste, price, & scope.

Edit: we went back on a random Tuesday, a month later, and it was just as busy, line out the door and sardine sitting again.
Friday night at 7p is SO busy! As first timers we had no idea! Waited in line to order for 30 minutes. You order as you walk in and fingers crossed on seating. They really cram everybody in- like sharing a table with strangers. Sharing napkins and soy sauce with them. The waitress pulled a couples 4 top table into a 2 top for us and it was snug! I don’t see anybody commenting about that… it really kills the vibe of being able to sit and feel comfortable dining sitting lunchroom style.
Otherwise, we got the classic bowls and the classic crunchy yellow tail sushi. The bowls were delicious and knocked our socks off! So much ramen to enjoy. The sushi was good but boring. I wouldn’t get another classic sushi if i went back, but my friends was super good!!
I would go back for sure, but absolutely not during prime time.

First off this restaurant is absolutely amazing!! From the freshly made noodles to the rich broth, this place deserves 5 stars. My husband and I went and enjoyed eating at this restaurant after some much needed shopping time in Troy. There is not alot of space so be prepared to be close to strangers. Once the food came I didn’t care who was next to me anyways! ♀️ ♀️

Absolutely delicious! The sushi was super fresh, and the ramen broth was rich and flavorful. Everything tasted authentic and well-balanced. It can get a bit busy, so plan your visit accordingly but totally worth it!

We went to Shiromaru looking for ramen reminiscent of what we ate in Japan. This definitely hit the spot and exceeded our expectations. The ramen was amazing, the staff was efficient and kind, and the food was served hot and fast.
There was about a 30 minute wait for a table but the line moved quickly. The wait is worth it for the thick tender slices of pork! I will definitely be coming back!

We were in on Black Friday, the place had a huge line, but that didn’t phase this team. The cashier was doing an amazing job keeping the line, phone and take out orders flowing. You can tell they have a cohesive team that works well. Place was really clean and bussers did a good job of flipping tables. The rolls are amazing, Red Tiger and temp mango were our favorites of the 6 we tried. All were amazing
