Been comin’ here for several years now along with the Waukegan location. Have always loved the food here and especially the ice cream which is pretty much nearly all of the visits.
Pretty much a Chicago style grill featuring other familiar eats and soft serve ice cream/sundaes that always hit the spot. This is the one ice cream venue that my boys request to go to the most.
Over the years I’ve had a few of their food items including the gyros, burger, Chicago dog, Polish and obviously fries/chili cheese fries. They do it well here and prices still seem reasonable.
The only thing that seems slightly negative but still friendly and doesn’t cripple a 5⭐️ rating is that they can be really slow sometimes despite having what appears to be plenty of staff with a moderate amount of customers present.
Either way, my family & I are usually here 1-2x every month and will continue to support this local wonder. Don’t know if this is the same owner of the Wkgn location or the former Keno location but I hope for several years of boomin’ business to come.

I placed an order over the phone and they got my order wrong. I ordered an Italian meatball, but I received sausage with beef on top. I didn’t want to make a big deal so I ate the sandwich anyway, and that was a terrible idea… I got food poisoning the vanilla ice cream tasted weird too… really wish we chose somewhere else to go for dinner. I’m also breastfeeding right now, and being dehydrated seriously affected my supply… I’m hoping that this doesn’t ruin my breastfeeding journey. I dont know if the food was old or undercooked, but this needs to be taken more seriously. I was really looking forward to trying this place, and its unfortunate that it got me sick. I probably won’t come back here ever again. I would not recommend.

I’ve been coming here every Tuesday for the past two years to order root beer floats and have never had an issue until now. This week, I ordered three root beer floats, and when I arrived, they were not made properly.
I sent my daughter inside first to politely ask if they could be remade, and they refused. I then went inside myself and explained the situation calmly. Instead of addressing the issue, the manager looked at me as if I was trying to get something for free, which was frustrating. I simply wanted what I ordered, made correctly.
When I asked again if they could remake them, he refused. I left the floats on the counter and told them to keep the money so there was no misunderstanding that I was trying to get a refund or anything free. I just didn’t want something poorly made.especially at $5 each.
It’s unfortunate because I’ve supported this place consistently for years and have never had this kind of experience. I hope this was just an off day, but customer service and quality matter.

Great ice cream, sundaes, banana splits, and tasty fried food. Drive thru is fast, but sometimes it can form a line on the street. You can also order at the counter and eat inside or outside. Great friendly customer service. The parking lot is alright size, but there are a few handicap parking spots. The only problem is leaving the parking lot. It can be a bit dangerous at night since Lewis is a busy street, so be careful.

Tonight is the last time we will be visiting. The food is so expensive now, I get with inflation prices have went up but tonight’s dinner cost us $98. I ordered the Italian beef that came with very little beef on it (definitely not worth $9). I also ordered cheese fries with extra cheese sauce. I only received 1 cheese sauce. The staff has no clue what they are even doing. After I placed my order an employee told me that they couldn’t do the cookie dough shake and asked if I wanted something else. I said no and they issued a refund for it. Then, when my order was ready, they handed me the cookie dough polar blast. After lots of confusion I finally got it straightened out. Honestly the food isn’t worth the price. I’d rather go somewhere else and get the same food for half the cost.

They dont serve polish style hot dogs and look at me all weird when I ask for Maxwell style their polish consists of lettuce tomatoe and half dill pickle I didn’t request a hamburger hot dog just a regular polish style like how do they not understand
