THIS is the type of Soul food I remember growing up with when we’d go to family reunions and everybody brought a dish. The kind of food that’s been flavored with fat back, but you don’t care. Lots of choices of vegetables which I appreciate. it’s hard for people to get cabbage right but they really get it right here The atmosphere is set in an old building, but I love the nostalgia. My favorite thing about the restaurant is the people. They are kind, the service is good, the atmosphere feels vibrant and alive. I love the fact that they take prayer requests and I left several with them (three college-aged kids).

I respect that the Mission Statement on the wall confirms the belief that we give back to the community and help the needy. The food was delicious! However, the portions were noticeably reduced. I don’t like to criticize, but a modest increase in prices to make servings more ample would be good for hungry customers. A donation box would work, if that’s allowed, and those with extra can give money to a worthy cause. I highly recommend Shirley’s Sole Food!

Shirley’s food is delicious but us big guys don’t feel the helpings are enough and she has increased pricing and cut back on portions. Not a very good value, but because she helps the needy keeps us returning. Maybe a donation box, but more food would be better. Love her anyways.

Shirley is a Saint!!! It was our first time eating here and the food was amazing, we arrived at the end of the day so we didn’t get to try everything. We left right when they were closing and Shirley gave all the leftovers to the local homeless people. We need more women like this in the world!

If you are passing through town like us or a local, this is the place to eat! The food was delicious and had a home cooked flavor . The service was above great, and the atmosphere, including the music made it a perfect place to have lunch! BTW, large portions here, so if you leave hungry, it’s your own fault.

I first heard about Shirley’s on Alton Brown’s 2006 Feasting On Asphalt series. We had been meaning to go there for a long time, but just never got around to it. I was traveling through Toccoa on the way to Seneca, SC, saw the sign and wondered if that was the same place. Googled it, sure enough it was! The next day my wife and I went there for lunch.

Great food! Had fried pork chops, squash dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy and strawberry cobbler. The pork chops were perfectly fried and tender and the dressing had the right amount of sage. The strawberry cobbler was amazing. They provide a nice sweet and hot chow chow, sliced tomatoes and onions. Can’t wait to go back and try other selections. The bbq and fried chicken looked amazing!
