Visiting from out of town and stopped in to try and beat the rain. Really cool spot for breakfast. Staff was extremely friendly and made us feel welcome. Food came out super fast and was delicious. Chicken fried steak was one of the best I’ve ever had. We will definitely be back next time we’re in town.

The biggest draw to this diner is their interior decor. The exterior doesn’t look like much and honestly, we thought about finding another place to eat when we pulled up to the parking lot. But the interior decoration had a lot of character. They have many license plates hanging from the ceiling, donated by visitors over the years. An impressive collection that covers all 50 states and a couple of countries. They also have various currencies and a train that periodically goes through the top of the walls. They definitely have some of the most interesting decor of any diners I’ve been to.

The best kind of restaurant experience for me includes good food and friendly service. Well, at Shirley’s cafe you get that and more. The waitresses are experienced and good at it. I had the corned beef hash and it was delicious and plentiful. The eggs were perfectly prepared and the biscuit and graver were great. Parking is sufficient in front and street parking is available. We will have breakfast there anytime we are in Port Angeles.

Food was good but I think you need to be a local for them to care. We where never greeted, never asked how our food was, the waitress wouldn’t make eye contact and looked sad or like she hated her life. I had to get my own refill because nobody ever checked on us. Was really disappointed for the most part after having high hopes. Just didn’t feel welcome.

As Sunday morning regulars (one of their first customers when they open), we always order the same food because its our standard and it’s just the best. Always a warm, friendly and inviting atmosphere. Especially all the memorabilia on the walls and the train that circles the restaurant. Highly recommended! A staple in our family every week!

I’m not one to write a review that is negative, but I do want to say that the food was honestly pretty bland. The steak appeared to not be seasoned and was just a piece of meat with no flavor. The french toast and eggs also did not have much flavor.

We went to this place for brunch before climbing Mt. Storm King. Classic American breakfast with good options. I tried the scrambled eggs with hash brown and toast.

Cool spot to eat and the food was excellent! I had the sausage breakfast bowl and my husband had the country fried steak. We were both very happy with our food and the portions. Definitely check this place out!

Shirley’s Cafe was just great! Friendly, fast and attentive waitresses, and if I might say, the best steak and eggs breakfast I have ever had. I and my neighbor were doing the Olympic Highway 101 Loop tour and stayed the night in Port Angeles. The next morning, for breakfast, we discovered Shirley’s Cafe. Great discovery! Charming and so hospitable! And the food? To die for. I barely finished the ample plate.. Steak (which was cooked perfecty, and SO tender), 2 eggs, cooked to order, a huge serving of hash browns and toast. I finished everything but the toast, as it was just too much food, and cooked perfectly! My neighbor agreed, the steak was unbelievable! Lots of locals, and the ceiling was covered in auto license plates from those that have visited here. Plus photos, and a train that runs around the ceiling. Charming! Go there. Guaranteed you will love it!

Cool ambience with a train that goes around the restaurant, rolling chairs to eat in, and license plates hung above you. The food was fine, but not great. We got the breakfast burrito and the country bowl. The breakfast burrito had what tasted like liquid eggs with almost no flavor, and the ingredients inside (other than the sausage, were warm but raw).
