My wife and I spent nine wonderful days in Laguna Beach, and during our stay, this spot quickly became our go-to breakfast destination. We ended up visiting five times, and each visit was as delightful as the first. The consistent quality and delicious offerings kept us coming back.
My personal favorite was the asiago jalapeno bagel with regular cream cheese. The combination of the spicy jalapeno and the rich asiago cheese was perfectly balanced, and the fresh, creamy texture of the cream cheese complemented it beautifully. Each bite was a perfect start to the day.
The friendly staff also added to the positive experience. They were always welcoming and efficient, making sure our orders were prepared just right. The warm atmosphere and fantastic bagels made this breakfast spot an integral part of our Laguna Beach vacation.

Shirley’s Bagels absolutely delivers. I had the Nova lox bagel sandwich on a salt bagel, and it was fantastic. The bagel itself was fresh, perfectly chewy with just the right amount of salt—honestly, one of the best I’ve had anywhere. The lox was high quality, the cream cheese was smooth and balanced, and everything came together beautifully.

First time here and I love it! If you like bagels you must try them here! Probably my new favorite spot. Specially because of the location. You can grab your bagles to go and find a spot on the beach or with a view of the beach and eat them while you enjoy the sound of the waves and the tranquility of the ocean. (Grab a book and read after, while you are out there )
No restroom inside the restaurant and no indoor seating available right now but there are three tables outside and a bench close by to eat there if you like. (Again just take it to go and have it by the beach) parking was available but I can see it being tough to find one during lunch time so beat the rush.
Many bagels to choose from but of course I went with the jalapeño cheese. We ordered the California bagel, it gives you a choice of meat and …..you guessed it, I picked bacon. We asked to add Chipotle and it was delicious staff was friendly and helpful. Great service. And everything is well organized in case you want to order ahead and just pick up your order quickly and take it to go.

Food is always amazing and coffee is good,
I’m dinging the restaurant on their orange juice which they clearly don’t try. It’s always bitter and the oranges are clearly not ripe.
Please try your fresh juice and make sure it’s not bitter and sour before serving to customers 🙂

My favorite Bagel spot! Been coming here forever. Perfect place to grab a bagel and take it to main beach to sit and enjoy breakfast. I always get the CTA Deluxe open face or Californian sandwich. This is a chain now, but Laguna Beach one is best IMO.

Nice variety of bagels, specialty spreads, egg sandwiches and friendly employees to top it off! Indoor seating, a few tables outside, drinks, and the best bagel I’ve had in California. Highly recommend the everything bagel toasted with lox cream cheese. I literally said “wow” to myself (out loud) when I finished it.

They have a sign that says “Quality takes time” and I think it’s perfect because these bagels are worth the wait. Of course if you don’t want to wait you can always order ahead online.
