Delicious food, but pricey, remember that you have to pay for the food plus gratitude charge plus tax plus tips. I mean buy hundred dollar food.. pay another hundred dollar to pay their rent, service is not that good, you place the order they will just serve food no one will come up after you finish. Just leave the table dirty and say goodbye.

Totally disappointed. I tried Shirazi Kebab for so many different times and this time is the worst. Two different price menus for take out and dine in, difference is really big…not a good service by the manager or the guy who is the front, not welcoming at all. Their food quality was really good couple of years ago but this time is garbage. Tastes like local cheap kabob place.

The food is really tasty and cooked to perfection. However, when the order arrived I noticed that there are no napkins or silverware and we had to go around the office looking for our own . I also realized that even though we made individual orders they sent one big salad container which means people will have to share the salad instead of each order having its dedicated salad container. The same thing with the white and hot sauce where we were forced to share the same container together. This might work if we had ordered one of the big family orders, but when we place an individualized order it simply means that the order is for strangers who might not feel comfortable eating together from the same salad and sauce container. Need to pay more attention when sending a delivery
Update:
I am not sure what’s wrong with them. I placed a big order and when I took it home the salad and white sauce amount look like someone ate them and they gave me the leftover.
Will attach a picture of it.

For a desi resturant this place is above avg when it comes to sit down and atmosphere. Just like every other resturant these days the prices went up while the portion got smaller… by far still the best bang for your money..

Biggest issue with desi owned resturant is service… you always have that 1 person who is trying to mange it while inexperienced staff is trying to keep up.

Adding 18 to 20 % of Graduaty is a norm even though you are bit getting anything special if it was upto me I would give no tip here…

Very disappointed with the service we received for our dinner reservation of 20 last night.

We called two days in advance to make the reservation and placed our food order three hours ahead of time. We clearly communicated the time we wanted the food served, yet it was obvious that cooking did not begin until we arrived. As a result, the food came out almost an hour late. This was especially frustrating since our group included many hungry kids and people who had just come from work. Delays can happen, but the lack of clear communication was unacceptable. Neither the manager nor the bouncer out front gave us any accurate updates. If there were concerns, we would have gladly paid a deposit in advance to ensure timely service.

An 18% gratuity ($90) was automatically added, which left us wondering what service it was for. No salad was offered while we waited, and the salad didn’t even come out with the food. They gave fries once I got up for a second time to ask for an update with a crying baby. Not once did a server check in to ask if we needed anything. The only interaction we had was when a drinks cart came by after the food was finally here, and even then, the attitude was unpleasant. It also raises questions about whether the gratuity actually goes to the servers or elsewhere. If there was actual service, 18% or even more is nothing and I would be happy to pay it.

Toward the end of the night, we felt rushed out. While our bags were still on the tables, staff began cleaning around us, moving chairs, and clearly showing annoyance. Had our food arrived on time, we would not have been there near closing.

To be fair, the food quality itself was very good, and the kitchen staff did a great job. However, portions were noticeably smaller than before. The $150 platter was not worth the size we received. The two different menus for sit in and take out makes no sense.

Overall, very disappointed with Shirazi, particularly the management and our experience with Edwin.

I’ve been to and ordered from this spot for several years now. I am of Afghan descent and it is me and my family’s go-to. In terms of value, nothing to my knowledge beats it in NYC.

Many of the dishes are cooked to perfection, while the weaker ones are still excellently cooked, and it’s extremely affordable.

The best kababs here are the Kofta kababs, barg kabab, lamb kababs including their lamb chops. All perfectly cooked, juicy, flavored to perfection.

Their chicken tikka kabab is pretty good but you can find juicier ones in other establishments around the city (but usually for a higher price) and their Jujeh kabab is sadly mediocre, somewhat dry and lacking in flavor.

Their rice, including their basic seasoned Afghan rice, is on point and their sauces are really damn good.

The portions are huge as well, some might even find sharing a single kabab dish between two people is more than enough.

One thing I will note is they often don’t have the classic Afghan bread anymore, and the last few times I had their food, they gave me Indian naan bread instead, I don’t know what’s up with that.

This is the place to go if you’re looking for excellent, no frills Afghan food at an incredible value, unless you’re a fan of Jujeh Kebab, then go somewhere else, especially Persian restaurants.

I visited this restaurant yesterday, and unfortunately, it was a really disappointing experience. The food was terrible, the service was poor, and even the utensils weren’t up to par. In short, their service is just awful.”
Will never go back.

This is a great restaurant. It is halal and foods are good. The bathroom and party hall is great too. We ordered food that tasted great! There are big dining tables and comfy chairs. This is suitable for large groups. Nice job on this restaurant!

First time coming. They moved a block away to a larger location from reading the reviews. Food was delicious and the price was very appealing. We had a late lunch with no one at the restaurant at the time, but we could see alot of take out orders were occurring. We had a Spanish dessert which was interesting for a Kebab restaurant. Also the restaurants menu was back lite so it was nice and bright! Will go again.
