My friend and I came here last Sunday and we enjoyed our food, drinks and the great customer service from the awesome bartender on duty. I forgot her name, but I know she’s engaged and getting married soon. Ships has always been nice. The only disappointment was the removal of one of my favorite menu items. The crab and corn fritters. Otherwise the food is yummy.

The sandwiches with french fries are really affordable. The shrimp tacos are delicious (can add a little more veggies & shrimp).

The corned beef sandwich is scrumptious (lettuce, tomatoes , fried onions , melted cheese , mayo on toasted kaiser roll).

My mate enjoyed the (Long Island ️ Ice Tea).

The steamed crabs are scrumptious.

Only 1 (one) check per table.

Each person paid their taxes & separate gratuity of 18% on their order. My bill came to $112.00 (final cost $143.00) with taxes & gratuity.

(I think the gratuity & taxes) is being paid… 10 times over if each person is taxed this way.

We tried the breaded scallops, crab macaroni & cheese, the breaded shrimp, crab fritters, crab bisque and clam chowder (daily special). Our favorite food was the crab and corn fritters, they are a must try, perfect size to split for 3 people. My second favorite was the crab macaroni and cheese, it is definitely worth trying, it consisted of macaroni tossed in a cheese sauce topped with crab and melted cheddar on top. Unfortunately we had multiple problems here with the food. Our main dishes were good, just the mac, scallops and shrimp. The bad was the taste of the soup, the tar tar sauce, and the fries were undercooked. There must have been a mix up in the kitchen because the clam chowder tasted sour, and the tar tar sauce tasted of cinnamon! We were also unhappy at choosing grilled shrimp, them telling us they “didn’t have it and would bring breaded” and did not alert us to the drastic change in price for the different items. We were all disappointed, especially with the prices versus the quality. Hopefully this was just an odd occurrence for this place.

A long time resident on Frederick Road this is the place to come for crabs. They are steaming hot and perfectly cooked. They serve crabs year round. The rest of the regular menu is excellent with huge portions of food. The potato skins are incredible. Possibly the best orange crush in town too. Very friendly crowd.

My wife wanted crabs and Ship’s was recommended by her coworker. We ordered cream of crab soup and a dozen XL crabs. The soup and crabs were great. Our crabs were hot, heavy and seasoned well. We only ate 1/2 a dozen before we tapped out. My wife did say next time she will request a little more seasoning. Last but not least our server Brandi was fantastic and we will be back.

Went as a large group of 10. We were sitted right away and orders taken for drinks. I will admit that we had a reservation, so things went smoothly.

The service was outstanding. We only had one incident of a forgotten appetizer, other than that it was fantastic.

We ordered calamari, nachos, Maryland chowder and regular chowder for appetizers. The nachos and calamari were the winners

The main entre was steamed crabs by the dozen. Super messy but really good. Recommended for a large group.

We are from California and had to try the Maryland steamed crab feed. A must try for tourists.

This place has kind of gone downhill, seems they are indifferent on maintenance and cleanliness of the restaurant and bathrooms and the same indifference seems to come across in the young white staff that are inexperienced and turnover frequently.
In the last few years I usually just go for crabs. Each time there is one really bad obviously terrible spoiled crab that they send out in the dozen. Each time I have to ask them to take it off the bill. This is ridiculous and appears intentional to me like they’re trying to see who doesn’t complain.
We also had the softshell crab entree which you can see in the picture is just a big show. Shell crab on a plate. Was pretty tasty but I wouldn’t call that an entree.
