This funky little bar is absolutely fantastic. Their small plates are just right to accompany the high end, boutique cocktails here. It’s just a delightful location with the right amount of elegance and quirkiness.
Staff are generally pleasant and attentive, without interfering with the conversation. But if you’re solo, they don’t want anything to do with you, it seems.
The martini presentation was spectacular, as were all the other cocktails. Manhattan was gorgeous. The Earl Grey ‘the Gin Gimlet’ is a m a z i n g. One of the consistently best craft cocktails in town.

When a bartender can hand you a drink on fire, with confidence, that is what I am looking for! Great flare and fun! The taste of the drinks are spot on and love the true vibe of Prohibition, hardly even a light on! You could miss the spot if you blinked walking by but what a treasure it was to find! HIGHLY recommend! Food was the true bonus too! Try the grilled cheese jalapeno popper!

I hesitate to drop a review because this cocktail bar is exactly what Olympia has needed FOR YEARS!
Tim and his team have elevated craft cocktails to the next level. The panini press is where Bryce used to cut my hair, so that’s weird.
Great use of the old barber shop space.
Super fun.
Unpretentious.
Great high end bourbonses too.

I had an uncomfortable interaction at Shiny Prize after explaining that I avoid whiskey due to gluten reactions. When I declined a complimentary shot, the bartender disagreed with my concern. He kept revisiting it throughout the night, stating that gluten could not be present after distillation and suggesting that my reactions were likely related to the barrel wood.
This left me feeling dismissed, and I left believing I was allergic to wood. I’ve since learned that gluten can be reintroduced during the aging process, as they are often sealed with wheat paste. Being encouraged to question my own health experience was not helpful. Gluten combined with whiskey makes me very ill.
Please respect customers when they disclose dietary or medical restrictions. Diagnosing instead of listening is not safe or professional, and it’s important that information shared with guests does not unintentionally steer those with gluten sensitivities in the wrong direction.

I really enjoy coming here for drinks if I’m able to snag a spot! Drinks are always so tasty and the bartender here are very lovely and kind! Came to leave a review and say an extra thank you to the two bartenders who helped ward off an unwanted and strange interaction for my friends and I the other evening- much appreciated. Always will recommend!

Terrible omg we walked on a Sunday there was 3 people total in the bar the bartender greeted us and then told us to wait . We waited while he slowly made a couple drinks talked to someone else then went and said goodbye to someone and then the tipping point was making eye contact with me turning to say good bye to his friend and then going to get on his phone and look through music still not coming over to get our order and we walked out . So rude and we couldn’t hear anything the music was so loud

Shiny Prize in Oly is an absolute gem. I’ve been to a lot of places in Olympia and worked in customer service jobs for years so for me customer service is a must. SP never disappoints. It’s the PNW of Cheers. I roll in with my wheelchair or walker and despite it being small, I have a place. Shiny knows my name, friends, they know care. They’re humans, the best humans. I love local businesses. You can’t go wrong walking or rollin’ into SP. Check out these trophies! Curious? Stop in!
