I simply got some Okonomiyaki (Osaka style), takoyaki and Gyudon. I ended the meal with their Match Affogato. Being stateside, I was quite satisfied, with everything tasting wonderful. I will say the Takoyaki was particularly exceptional
The staff was very welcoming and kind as well. It all very much brought me “back” so to speak. I’ll certainly have to remember to swing by here in the future if I’m ever passing through again
The restaurant is quite small, doesn’t take reservations, so being on a Tuesday evening, we went with our fingers crossed.
It was full, there was only one table for 2 pax left but we are party of 4, so we waited.
The lovely lady server (sorry I asked for your name but then forgot) was really polite, nice and clever at the same time. She tried to politely brought the bills to other tables and after 15 minutes, managed to set a table for 4 for us.
She took orders neatly and brought the food once by one very nice. 5 STARS for the service.
Ambiance is chill, even though the place is small, it’s totally full but we felt relaxed with the moderate noise and nice atmosphere.
We ordered 2 Gyozas, 3 different Ramen and one Chicken Tonkatsu set. All were great!
We have 2 birthdays at our table and an ice cream, on the house was served with a candle. Yay!!!
We will come back for more and will make sure to remember the name of our lovely server, who always with a smile.
My server was saleea and she was also the only one as well as the hostess. Couldnt have asked for better service.
She greets you when she hears the door and is very kind and patient. She let me bring in my luggage and i had 4 big bags with me.
The restaurant has great food made pretty quick and they play Japanese music for real.
Id come here daily if i lived around here
10/10 thank you!!
The ramen delivered on its promise: deeply aromatic, well seasoned, and generously portioned for its $17 price tag. I opted to add black garlic oil for a mere extra dollar, a small decision that noticeably elevated the richness of the broth; definitely worth it. Is it as authentic as the Japanese ramen I frequently consumed in NYC? Not quite, but I believe with further refinement, this can potentially be achieved.
Altogether, the experience struck a strong balance between quality and value, making it a solid choice for casual Japanese dining with just enough finesse to leave a lasting impression.
It was my first time trying takoyaki and they were delicious and perfectly fried.
The rose cherry tea was tart and slightly sweet and very good. It also came with free refills but we did not drink fast enough.
Overall fantastic. There are many menu items we did not get to try so we will be back.
The primary issue was the feeling of being obligated to purchase extra items. My server presented the drink option in a manner that strongly implied it was a mandatory component or automatically included with the Ochazuke set. Since I was dining alone, I would never have ordered a whole pot of tea otherwise.
The itemizing of condiments compounded my feeling of being duped. I asked for a simple dip for the single piece of karaage chicken with the set. I found a $1.00 charge on the check that covered the extra sauces I requested. To charge $1.00 for minimal sauces for one piece of chicken felt like unnecessary nickel-and-diming.
The worst part of the experience was the deep regret I felt after seeing the check and realizing I had been misled about the pricing of these extra items. While the food was okay, the lack of transparency about these mandatory-seeming add-ons completely ruined the value and the dining experience.
