Exploring Korean food options in the south part of Colorado Springs and found Shin Sa Dong. Stopped in during a weekend lunchtime. It was very busy, so that is a good sign. We chose the Bi Bim Bap bowls. I prefer the room temperature version, while my wife likes the Dolset version- or hot bowl. Both were presented very well along with many of the standard sides you would expect= KimChee, radish kimchee, fish cake..etc. We were able to ask for more servings as needed. The fried mandu was also very good. Seating area is fairly small, so maybe avoid rush hour meal times. Staff is very friendly and you can practice those few words of Korean language that you know. We will return for sure!

Came here after a long day driving. It was a pleasant experience with the service by the ladies running the place. Ordered kimchi pancake, it was a good serving. Yukgaejang Spicy Beef soup was heartily served with steaming bowl of rice. Perfect way to warm up. Our group ordered kimchi soup and a crackling bowl of bibimpap as well. Did not disappoint. Overall good experience.

I was brought here by a friend for the first time yesterday. We were greeted warmly and received excellent service throughout our meal. Banchan was portioned well and the fried dumplings were on point. The kimchi jjigae was served bubbling and flavorful, and my friend greatly enjoyed the spicy bulgogi. I took the kimchi jjigae home and it reheats well and tastes just as flavorful as it did in the restaurant! Lunch prices are very fair! I will be back.

I wouldn’t recommend this place. I came by myself – asked for the Samgyeopsal which is a dish for two since I was craving it and still got attitude for refilling banchan. They charged me for an extra plate of lettuce. The pork belly was hard. All in all a miserable dining experience.

Looking at this place from the outside, it doesn’t look attractive. When you walk in, it doesn’t look appealing to the eye. The devor is very simple, but the food IS ON POINT. I had the Kimchi stew and the kimchi pancake. The pancake is one of the best I’ve had since my time in Korea. The stew was good because ?they packed it with pork, tofu, kimchi, and sliceed rice cakes. The sides were so yummy as well! Overall, I HIGHLY recommend this little diamond in the rough.

This was the first 한극 restaurant I knew as I got into the food, and culture growing up. Over the years there have been negativity, but I think 씬사당 has improved their serving since my last visit 4 years ago. The food is delicious but lacks the fermentation of some other restaurants, with the marketing and vibe being a welcoming home away from home that makes up for any difference in experience.

신사당 – 6/10

Food: 7/10
Service: 8/10
Price: 6/10
Cleanliness: 7/10
Marketing: 9/10

If they can fix the restroom roof, get rid of the entrance smell and add some fermentation back, this place would easily be best.

I feel like I need to share a good restaurant.

When we got stationed at Colorado Springs, we visited several Asian restaurants and we decided that Shin Sha Dong was one of our favorite Korean restaurants. We like the food, service, and the cleanliness. Since both of us have a sensitive stomach, and we don’t have any issues with their food, Shin Sha Dong is in our list to get our food at least once every 2 weeks since 2020 until now.

We will PCS soon, so we will miss this Korean restaurant. Especially their dolsot bibimbap, haemul sundubu, and spicy beef bulgogi ^^

Thank you for cooking good and tasty food… we wish we can eat at here again when we get stationed at Colorado Springs.

My wife and I were stationed here about 5 years ago now. She likes to go to all the different restaurants to find ones she likes. She is from Indonesia and is very picky about food, but we both love this place and have been coming here just about every weekend for the past 5 years. My favorite is the Dolsot Bibimbap. The food is great and the staff are extremely nice!

This food is so good. We came on our lunch break while TDY at Peterson. The the rice cakes were really good, and the beef bulgogi is amazing and spicy. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and we were able to get through our food within the hour we needed.

My wife and I have been eating here for 10 years. My wife is from Busan South Korea and she assures me that this is the best Korean place in town.. Living in South Korea for three years myself, I have to agree.
