The food was amazing and the owners were very sweet and attentive. However, I will say that the employee working tonight was one of the most unprofessional workers I’ve ever encountered. It was truly astonishing. I considered leaving a negative review but the two people running the restaurant amd making the food (I’m assuming the owners) were wonderful and the food was great, so I’m still giving 5 stars, but they really need to hire some better staff.

Shimoda Sushi and Ramen in Havelock, North Carolina, is easily the best thing about this town. In a place with limited dining options, Shimoda stands out for its consistently excellent food, fresh ingredients, and fair prices. The sushi is always fresh and well-prepared, and the ramen is rich, flavorful, and comforting. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the space is clean and inviting. I could easily eat here five times a week and never get tired of it!

The food was immaculate, albeit expensive. Also there is no drink fountain so you will have to pay for each bottle drink. However, they have a wide variety of exotic drinks which is very neat! The atmosphere is very cozy and pleasant, the staff was very kind, and I greatly look forward to going back again!

I highly recommend Shimoda! It’s our go-to restaurant after church on Sundays. Their food always comes out quickly and tastes amazing! Best sushi in the area. The owner & staff are always kind and make sure guests have everything they need.

Great ramen bowls with fresh ingredients, delicious sushi, (the Mariner roll with pickled radish is a stand out) and real wasabi. Real wasabi is exceptionally rare in the US but it’s grown in the NC mountains so we get to enjoy it here in Havelock. Use the toast link for online ordering as their website is still in development.
