Fresh ingredients, great taste, the ambience is chill, music at a low enough volume to talk to others. Looking forward to my next visit!

Shima is a neighborhood gem. In my opinion, this restaurant has some of the best sushi in South Florida. I’ve eaten in the restaurant as well as have ordered it for delivery. The sushi is always fresh. It’s also reasonably priced. I love that for the price of one sushi roll in other restaurants, you can come here and get multiple rolls.

The revolving boats sushi were cute and different than a conveyor belt style of sushi. On a Saturday night, the wait time was around 30-45 minutes and there were only two servers. Service was slow and not attentive. The boat sushi were continuous the same type of sushi rolls. There was not a large amount of variety and the boats were continuously getting empty. It seems like there was only one sushi chef that did all the raw sushi rolls for here and to go orders. The sushi and fried items was good and fresh. The Japanese Omelette Rice was ok. Not worth $20. The restaurant is a bit run down as well and there were two portable A/Cs around the facility. I would highly recommend putting names on the revolving sushi.

Nice touch of a variety of sushi. Choose your sushi by boat/ plate, or order from the menu. Great tasting sushi and deserts. Great prices and friendly staff.

Hands down, this place has to be one of the best sushi spots in all of South Florida. I’m no sushi expert by all means, but in my humble opinion, the taste, quality, freshness, variety and price is by all means exceptional! I’ve been to many sushi spots in Dade and Broward areas, some are high-end and others are causal/ “trendy” spots, but nothing beats the value and taste that these sushi rolls have… pretty descent sushi/ sashimi selection and easy on the pocket (although menu prices did increase just like everything else has). Always great service, very casual, very neighborhood friendly and overall good food. I used to live in the same area, now I live in Davie and I still make the drive from time to time to get our fix. I hope they never change and keep doing what they do. Congratulations to the owner, sushi chef and all staff for a job well done!

The place is quite nice and cozy, and the rotating sushi bar/lazy river concept is clever and unique compared to conveyer belt sushi. The food is pretty good. They put sauce on most of the nigiri, which can overpower the flavor of the fish at times. But overall the quality is pretty decent and the prices are good. I’ll continue to stop by!
