I recommend going here and sitting at the bar for your first time, get to see the dishes up close and personal as they go by on the boats floating along the bar river thing.

Once youre familiar with the menu, a la carte ordering is the way to go.

Highly recommend getting a variety of rolls, sashimi, nigiri, gyozas and shrimp or chicken plates.

Crisp and cold tall glass of Saporo always hits!

We recently dined at Shima Sushi, and it was such a fun experience. Shima is best known for its sushi boats, which make for both a delicious and lively meal.

We started with a few items off the menu — gyoza (which amusingly also popped up later on one of the boats), the Cleopatra Roll, and the Jack Roll. Everything was fresh and flavorful.

When it comes to the boats, my recommendation is to focus on the freshly prepared items (skip anything wrapped in plastic). We enjoyed an impressive variety, including hot and sour chicken, tuna rolls, tempura shrimp, and more.

Highly recommend… but also don’t, because this neighborhood gem is one of Miami’s best-kept secrets.

The food was delicious . Not a lot of space for waiting. The boats are cute but they were too fast for me, my husband had to grab everything. It’s also kind of hard to get the waiter’s attention when sitting at the boat tables. Everything I have was amazing. The shrimp, any shrimp, was my favorite.

This location has been one of my
favorite sushi spots from 2012-2017. I moved to Naples in 2017 and hadn’t been back since. I came back with my bf while visiting family & still love it. They are clearly still open and JUST as good as I remember. We got 9 different plates from the boats & ordered 2 rounds of drinks (beer & wine) plus sake for under $70. We had Aaron as our server who was amazing & the chef was just spectacular. My only complaint is that they don’t have a Naples, FL location. Thank you for the vibes!

This is my favorite Japanese spot near my house! The fish is always fresh, the prices are affordable, and the service is fast every single time.

What I love the most is the staff. The girls work so well together as a team , you can really see how much they care. Kassandra’s energy always makes me feel so welcome, and they’re all super attentive from start to finish.

I truly love this place and always enjoy coming back! ✨

Place is ok, but I think for a plate of 4-5 pieces sushi a 9 – 10$ it’s kinda high, keep an eye Cuz every plate is a price range between 4-10 dollars, desert is good, sauces cost money too if you ask for sauces, kinda pushy too after “finish” eating.

Shima has good sushi at a decent price with a nice variety to choose from. Even on a Wednesday night the line was long, which shows how popular it is. The only downside was that it felt like we were rushed a few times during dinner. Overall, still a solid spot for sushi if you don’t mind the wait.

The food is amazing and the employees in general are welcoming and friendly. But today there was a very disrespectful lady working the front taking names. She had black hair and it was in a bun. She was treating everyone rudely. For being the first person to greet the customer at the front, she was being very snappy towards guests. Extremely poor attitude. I was not expecting this kind of customer service from this restaurant.

The fish at Shima is incredibly fresh you can really taste the quality in every bite. I absolutely love how the food comes floating by on little boats, it makes the whole experience so fun and unique! Definitely one of my favorite sushi spots. Highly recommended!

Disappointing experience overall. The fish quality was mediocre at best—definitely not what you’d expect from a sushi bar. The rice was just passable, lacking proper seasoning to complement the fish. For a rotating sushi bar, I hoped for better freshness and flavor. Not sure if I’d return, even if I’m craving sushi
