This may possibly be the best Nepalese-Tibetan-Indian restaurant in Colorado (which is seriously saying something, considering how many Tibetan restaurants there are, especially in Boulder.) We order garlic naan, hot chai, chicken momo, and chicken makhani. The flavor on all of these were rich, strong, and delightfully balanced. The atmosphere in the restaurant was also wonderful. There was a Dalai Lama shrine inside that looked like it was probably from Nepal itself. This will now be a vital stop for me every time I come through Gunnison. If you are coming through, you’ve gotta stop here!

Wasn’t expecting much and was pleasantly surprised. Ordered takeout and it was delish. Chicken tikka, veggie korma, and some raisin /coconut naan was perfect for 3-4 people. Was super flavorful. Will be back here again if we stop in Gunnison.

We visited Sherpa Cafe on a Sunday evening, and the experience was quite enjoyable. Our family of five was seated promptly at a table that fit us comfortably, though it was close to a ceiling speaker that was a bit louder than preferred. Despite that, we were able to chat without too much difficulty.
Service was efficient; our drinks and silverware arrived quickly, and our orders were taken soon after. We started with cheese naan and vegetable samosas. The naan had a nice texture and was fresh, though I think I’d prefer trying the garlic naan next time for more flavor. The samosas were tasty, but I found them lacking a bit of heat compared to what I’m used to.
Two of our kids ordered chicken fingers, which came with a generous portion of fries, while the third enjoyed the Beef Momos. He found them juicy and reminiscent of soup dumplings, although he wasn’t a fan of the accompanying sauce. My wife had the Paneer Korma, which she liked a lot but couldn’t finish, and I opted for the Chicken Makhani, which turned out to be essentially Butter Chicken. It was delicious, and like the others, I ended up with leftovers.
While the initial service was quick, it took longer than expected to receive our to-go boxes and check, which added about 20-30 minutes to our visit.
Overall, I’d recommend Sherpa Cafe. If you’re not seeking spicy dishes, it’s a solid choice for a family meal.

The food is excellent. Great flavors! I ordered the chai tea, lentil soup, and the chicken in a creamy tomato curry. Very delicious. The service was not extremely fast, but we were not in a hurry. We enjoyed the outdoor sitting.

Everything was really good, but the chicken makhani was exceptional, and the coconut raisin naan was amazing. My husband had the garlic and cheese naan and momo dumplings and both were very good, too. There’s also so lovely decor. Our server was very friendly and the food was served fairly quickly.

The Sherpa Cafe was an awesome surprise. We stopped in for dinner and got seated quickly. Our drink and order also quickly taken. It did take a bit for food to come out due to the large quantity of online and call in orders… When the food came out it was spectacular. My wife and I shared the Sherpa stew and the chowmain both came out very hot. It should be a crime to make food that incredible but that hot. Thank you Sherpa Cafe for the great meal.
