Food was great service was great! Had the Belt sandwich and a Pom cider, wife had the Bennie and the kids shared the French toast. Belt came with a side of Brussels and they were damn near the best I’ve had perfectly cooked. Cool spot will go again.

Came in last week around 5ish for dinner and sat on the patio. There were good and bad parts to our experience. They had some solid happy hour options, for both food and drinks. It did take us a bit to get drinks at first, due to some miscommunication with our server. We waited for about ten minutes after being sat with waters before going inside to ask our server if we order inside or not, and she told us she was waiting on our third person to get there. Totally understandable, but we didn’t get checked on during that time and she seemed a bit annoyed at having to come outside. We ordered happy hour drinks and deviled eggs (traditional style, they change regularly according to the menu!) and garlic parm rub HH wings. Everything came out quickly and was enjoyable. The wings were huge, but we probably would’ve gone with a sauce next time. Our server seemed to start warming up to us when we placed our entrée orders, despite the initial irritated attitude. We got the devil’s triangle hot chicken and the blackened fish tacos. The hot chicken and sides were really good, and a really hefty portion as well. The Mac had a wonderful creaminess to our and the collards were a standout- a little sweet along with the savory. The fish tacos were really good as well, but I had to send them back. There was a hair sitting on the side of one of the tacos, which like whatever, things happen, I just picked it off and went about it. Got through most of one taco before I spotted a second hair, this time more embedded in the taco. I sent them back and got the turkey ruben to go (not pictured) which was pretty good when I reheated it at home. Decided to try the cherry pie with vanilla ice cream for dessert. It was decent, but again we had to send it back after a few bites when we noticed a spot of mold on it. Luckily none of us got sick afterwards, and our server was super understanding and she took it off the bill for us. After closing out, two of us stayed for awhile to wait out the storm that had started up, and our server was kind enough to let us reopen for a couple more drinks while we watched the rain. The bar itself has a real neighborhood watering hole vibe to it, and you can tell that there’s a lot of friendly regulars who hang out. I’d probably come back to drink again, but wouldn’t order anything to eat if I came back.

We ate around 1pm on a Saturday and ordered from the Brunch menu. I had the French toast with sausage, and it was delish. The husband had the fried fish sandwich. The fish was very thick and battered/fried to perfection. Good variety of beer choices, something for everyone. Highly recommend to anyone visiting the area and looking for quality food, great service, and the Richmond experience.

Got a to go order and realized the chicken on the sandwich was so overcooked and dried out, it was hard to eat. Service was outstanding and restrooms were great. I will be back and hope we can work out the sandwich situation as I make food review videos.

The atmosphere is cozy and gives that sense of Richmond living we know from this city. Service is friendly and attentive every single time. And most of all this is some of the best Chicken and Mac I’ve had in this city!

Seated quickly and service was great! Waitress was very familiar with both the food and spirits menus. Loaded tots to start, and they were the perfect starter! Beer cheese was tangy but tasted amazing!

I got Pretzel burger with bacon and smoked Gouda with the chips as a side, little guy got a regular with no mustard and fries.

First off… The chips are fresh cooked and AMAZING! The seasoning on them is unique.. salty, but just the right way and some seasoning I couldn’t put my finger on… But I loved it!

Burgers were cooked perfectly, the taste of the bacon and smoked Gouda really added some great layers of flavor to the seasoning on the burger. I would have liked some salt on the pretzel bun.. but that’s the only less criticism I can give on the food!

The only downside to the experience was a small one. The patio/entrance is the smoking area for the bar as well… So you have to walk through cigarette smoke to get in… But I had zero issue with it. I just could see it as negative for other visitors.

Very dive bar/downtown feel, diverse clientele, friendly and fast service, and great food all make this somewhat hidden gem!

Next time, I’m going for the meatloaf! Definitely a multiple visit kinda place for me!!

My crew ( my dog and I) pop into Sheppard street when we are in the area. The food is always great, as well as staff and patio goers. My dog sometimes enjoys it more than me because he is spoiled by the staff. Especially Jessie.

I had a great time at SST, specifically for brunch. I had the Bender Breakfast, coffee(s) and a slice of vanilla cake with cheesecake. All we’re fantastic – great flavors and while I was very full by the end of the meal, I felt good. Great selection of hot sauces if you want even more spice in your food. The waitress was extremely friendly and attentive. She did a great job cajoling me into feeding my id (which I honestly needed). Always made sure we had coffee and water at our disposal. I look forward to coming back!
