Excellent classic Taiwanese food. The beef noodle soup was one of the best I’ve had and the popcorn chicken was nicely fried. Highly recommended for an authentic Taiwanese cuisine experience.

Probably the best Taiwanese spot around town. The dan Dan noodles were perfect. With shaved cucumber and carrots too. They have fresh uni and sushi. Don’t be fooled by the size and location, the uni is fresh and flown in from Japan. The Japanese pork cutlet was excellent, nice and thin/crispy. The beef noodle soup had so much flavor. The braised pork belly was exactly how it’s supposed to be. Prices are very reasonable.

Got the pork katsu meal, it had bones and tendons which is NOT what a katsu is supposed to have. It was so sweet for some reason and was not cut through properly. They didn’t provide knives to cut through the meat either, only flimsy plastic fork and spoon, and you just are expected to pick up the whole thing to eat. Terrible food

This rating is for the Dan Dan noodles. There was zero sauce, it was just plain noodles with sliced cucumbers/carrots. The veggies were fine, the noodle texture was soggy and clearly just reheated in premade bowls depending on if you get that or the peanut noodles. Then they dump some pork bits on top. It was flavorless and I was annoyed a restaurant would serve something so tasteless considering they have some other decent items.

Do not be fooled by this restaurant’s 4+star rating. Most of these are from the previous restaurant Sorrimmara — not sure how they managed to change the listing name to Sheng Sushi and keep the old reviews. Sheng Sushi was bad.
We ordered 6 soup dumplings and one cucumber sushi and we were given a buzzer remote. 40 minutes later and the buzzer had not gone off yet. We approached the counter to ask about the food’s ETA and were told the dumplings had been ready and sitting on the counter for a while. Ok, what about the sushi? They said they forgot and would go make it now. (After 40 minutes, no buzzer, and dumplings that sat out for who knows how long?) No thanks, I asked for a refund and ate somewhere else.

I ordered hot spicy beef noodle soup and it was so huge that it’s large enough for 2 persons. The best beef noodle soup in USA. I don’t have to go to Las Vegas to get my beef soup. The beef in Sheng was so tender and tasty and they were very generous on beef. At least 6 pieces giangantic chucks of tasty beef per serving(enough for me and my husband). I will definitely go back again.

Really good malatang, pricey though. This is a unique place in the sense that you get to pick all the veggies/meat you want, and then they cook it in the schezuan flavoring/soup. They had all sorts of things to pick from such as vegetables, mushrooms, meat, seafood, noodles, etc. since it was my first time here, I threw a little bit of everything in my bowl. You can also pick your spice level. I picked mild since the cashier recommended it, but I feel like spice lovers could easily handle 1 or more levels hotter. There’s a 1 lb minimum and you pay more depending on if your bowl is over 1 lb. I believe I had about 1.17 lb and I paid around $21. I would definitely come back because I enjoyed the malatang a lot but maybe not often because it’s expensive.
