As someone with Celiac disease, finding a place where I can eat safely without fear of cross-contamination is no small task — but Shell’s Pasta Emporium absolutely delivered! From the moment I arrived, the staff was knowledgeable, kind, and took my gluten-free needs seriously. They clearly understand what Celiac safe means, and that alone gave me instant peace of mind.
I tried their gluten-free pasta, and it was nothing short of incredible — perfectly cooked, rich in flavor, and you’d never guess it was gluten-free. The attention to detail in both preparation and presentation truly made this meal feel special.
The entire experience was warm, welcoming, and delicious. It’s rare to find a restaurant that combines passion for food with genuine care for those of us with dietary restrictions. Shell’s Pasta Emporium has earned a loyal customer for life!

My husband had the Mostaccioli, which he said was excellent. I had the tortellini special with pink sauce (a combination of red and alfredo), and our 9 year-old picky eater had plain spaghetti (which they sprinkled dried basil on, but she ate it anyway, yay!) I got the feeling the waiter was used to picky kiddos, and he was very understanding. We had a side of breadsticks, which were very tasty. The red sauce is a true Italian marinara, savory without the sweetness a lot of American sauces have. The alfredo was delicious, and I have to admit most of my breadsticks went that way. Prices were reasonable and portions just right. I felt comfortable there with the kiddo, and it felt like a pleasant, authentic local business. Staff was kind and attentive, and the food was prompt. Definitely recommend!

What a wonderful little restaurant! I had the most delicious gluten free cheese ravioli with Alfredo sauce it was decadent and amazing. My hubs had a sandwich and he said the quality of the meats was superb. Great, friendly service. Highly recommend!

Walked in, not realizing they were about to close. Upon realizing this I apologized and was about to leave. A nice guy was working and he e offered to put together an pasta alfredo for me. I was really surprised and appreciative.
The Alfredo was lovely. I will return to sample another dish in the future.

Got to the restaurant right before closing time. They were ready to leave but instead welcomed us in. The dining was excellent, the service timely and efficient. Will be returning to this establishment.

Shells is by far one of the best Italian food restaurants I have ever experienced at the lake before. It is a must try out! Completely impressed with how good this experience was! Loved the homemade sauces, and homemade Italian dressing is also a must try! The garlic bread was perfect! Had two apps, 4 full dinners and had a 12 inch pizza to go, bought an extra 16 oz to go of the Alfredo sauce all for $100. Met the owner before we left and she shared her story and I can tell you that you will be glad you tried this restaurant and will want to go back again and again! Wow! Worth the drive from gravois mills to get here!!!

If you are vegetarian or have alpha gal beware that the red pasta/pizza sauce has meat in it. It is taken out so there aren’t meat chunks in it but it is used on all the pizzas that have red sauce. The only thing I could eat here due to alpha gal was the pasta with mushrooms and broccoli. It was subpar.
